Sources
Hey there. I wanted to thank you for your work on the TFH images, though I noticed they still have their old sources. For the sake of accuracy, could you update their sources? TriforceTony (talk) 04:42, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- No problem! I didn't see how to change their sources before, but I just figured it out. HTWretched (talk) 17:53, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- Just to add to the sourcing thing: instead of just adding your username, use the original source template as it automatically adds all the necessary information. The code would look like this:
{{Original Source|Htwretched}}

Promotional Images
Hey again, I'm sorry for undoing your work like this but because of some managerial errors, a lot of the images you uploaded over were meant to be protected as they're promotional material that we have to document in the state that they were released in. I don't want you to lose your work, but I do have to revert the images back to their original form, then properly categorize and protect them. If you want, you can upload them at another destination so your higher quality images are preserved.
Again, I'm tremendously sorry for this situation, but documenting these screenshots specifically from official sources is just something we do. TriforceTony (talk) 00:12, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, that's okay. If you could point me to one of the images you've reverted, I can see what to watch out for in the future. Htwretched (talk) 01:11, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
- One of these would be like File:TFH Link Sword Suit.png, and you should be able to tell if it has a link to any of Nintendo or Zelda's social media accounts or websites. TriforceTony (talk) 02:15, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Sorry for wasting your time with my overzealous edits! I didn't notice this rule in the help guide. Htwretched (talk) 02:39, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Old Username
Hi, I noticed you mentioned that you lost access to your previous username, "HelpTheWretched", after Zelda Wiki's move to Gamepedia. I just wanted to let you know it may be possible to reclaim the edits your old account made and reclaim your old name. You can make a support ticket with Gamepedia here and request that they merge your current account with the account had before move, making sure to specify that you are talking about Zelda Wiki, what your current Gamepedia username is and what your old Zelda Wiki username was. Note that it could take some time for them to respond to the ticket, especially considering the time of year. This will mean that, once merged, any edits under "HelpTheWretched" will credit your Gamepedia account.
If you would prefer your username to be "HelpTheWretched" or even something other than "Htwretched", wait until your accounts have been merged and send another ticket to gamepedia support asking them to change your account name. Make sure to specify what your current Gamepedia username is and what you would like it to be. However, there is no guarantee that they will be able to change it to the username you want. — Link Lab (Talk) 21:33, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message! Getting my edits merged isn't a big deal, but I use that name on other Zelda-related sites so it'd be good to get it back. Also, as you can see from the ↑ previous topic ↑, I've learned my lesson about all those Source reverts you had to do. ;) Htwretched (talk) 04:58, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
Image sources
Hey there! Thanks for your recent upload. However, you haven't changed the old source. I've seen that you've already been warned on this. So I'm assuming you know how to use {{Original Source|Htwretched}}
. Don't worry, I'm not scolding you. Only re-iterating the fact that the source has to be updated. In case it is not updated, we will see ourselves in the obligation to remove it, thing we really don't want to. Thank you in advance! :) MannedTooth (talk) 03:48, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. Some work had come up suddenly, and after that I just forgot! Pretty sure I've updated the sources on any other image overwrites, but in case it happens again, I understand why you'd have to remove it. Htwretched (talk) 06:45, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
- As I said, I'm not scolding you, so there's no need to be sorry, really. We are still grateful to you for uploading it. Just be careful in the future! :) MannedTooth (talk) 07:27, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
- I got the gist of your message, but I'm still sorry. ;) Trying to contribute properly without stepping on anyone's toes, leads to occasionally forgetting some of the rules. Htwretched (talk) 00:15, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
Remove background?
Hey there! Thank you for uploading this animation, are you able to remove its background? MannedTooth (talk) 07:59, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Consider it done! The edges are slightly jagged, but that's a limitation of GIF files. Htwretched (talk) 19:02, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you! :) MannedTooth (talk) 01:50, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Revert image move
Why did you move File:ST Link Model.png back to File:PH Link Model.png? As shown in this video I linked in my edit reason, compared to Link's model in Phantom Hourglass, his Spirit Tracks model has more shading in his tunic, and his cap is a darker shade of green. The model image in question is from Spirit Tracks, and Link's Phantom Hourglass model should be uploaded separately. rjd1922 (talk) 17:26, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- I explained in one of the edit summaries that I looked into this by comparing in-game screenshots, and then comparing Link's textures that I personally ripped from both games, and they are in fact identical. Low Poly must have obtained an edited model, or maybe somehow damaged by conversion between formats. Here's a hi-res screenshot from Phantom Hourglass that shows the texture quite clearly: [1]
- In any case, I appreciate that you documented this difference even though it was not to be. I would have left you a message but didn't know your name on Discord, and the wiki wouldn't let me comment on your profile page because of a bug with the e-mail confirmation. Htwretched (talk) 17:46, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Same polygon count and everything? I (and A+Start) stand corrected. But I checked the history of the file page, and your edit reason was just "Reverting to PH". rjd1922 (talk) 19:30, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- That's weird, the edit reason shows up in Recent Changes. Neither I nor A+Start could see any differences between the two models, and their files are *mostly* the same data, so I think we'll leave them as-is, unless somebody spots a difference that cannot be un-seen after noticing it. Wii U or 3DS?
Heya HTW, hope you're doing well.
For File:SSB4 Midna Attacking.jpg, can you confirm whether this is image is from the Wii U game or the 3DS game? The FileInfo lists SSB4 as a game but "SSB4" is currently not a valid game code in Data:Franchise (I had left it out as per guidance from Tony at the time). PhantomCaleb (talk) 01:03, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- That image is from Wii U; the stage gives it away. I guess I'll go through my recent edits and change "SSB4" from wherever I've used those initials (aside from Template:SSB4). If there are any links or media that apply to both versions, is there a preferred version to use?
- Another thing I'd been meaning to look up, and just did: The official combined title Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U appears to have spaces around the slash, like Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. If that matters enough to fix it, I may not be aware of every place where it should be changed. Data, Templates, whatever else. Htwretched (talk) 22:21, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks!
- About which to use: at the time I believe Tony guided me towards using
SSBfWU
for terms that applied to both games. Since the Wii U version came out later I guess the logic of "use the latest version" applies.
- About which to use: at the time I believe Tony guided me towards using
- About the space between slashes, definitely seems worth fixing. Data:Franchise is the most important, followed by Template:Zelda. Hopefully we can get down to 1 source of truth some day. PhantomCaleb (talk) 01:01, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
Hi, I am Fandom's new Senior Community Manager for Gaming
Hello there! My name is Jieyang and I'm going around saying hi to admins in the community. I joined about two weeks ago but you'll be seeing me around more in the future. I didn't have the opportunity to play any of the Zelda games growing up because we didn't have any consoles in the house when I was a kid. But I was able to enjoy them on the 3DS in my later years. And, of course, BOTW is absolutely phenomenal and I guess now we're all just... waiting for TOTK.
You can learn more about me through my blog. Feel free to drop me a message on Discord as well! - Itsjieyang (talk) 19:59, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
