Dondon are a species in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Characteristics
Dondons are a newly-discovered species of quadrupedal Animal discovered by Zelda. They are an ancient species and the ancestors of Horses.[2] Only five of them have been found in the wild, all of which now reside in a sanctuary in Bronas Forest.[3] Dondons are very fond Luminous Stones, which they eat and then subsequently process into Gems.[4] Recently, rumors have been spreading among the Bird population of Hyrule about the Princess riding a Dondon, which they describe as being a colossal beast with huge tusks.[5]
Despite their appearance, Dondons have a gentle temperament, and tend to follow individuals they like.[6] They do not mind being rained on,[7] nor do they react to thunder.[8]
