Penn
Penn is a character in Tears of the Kingdom.[2] He is a Rito working as a reporter for the Lucky Clover Gazette.
Biography
Penn is first encountered at Lookout Landing after activating its Skyview Tower, where he congratulates Link for being the first person to use a Skyview Tower.[3] He informs him that he is a reporter for the Lucky Clover Gazette, writing a story on this event, before returning to the headquarters of the Lucky Clover Gazette.[2]
Penn is next found in the Lucky Clover Gazette headquarters, the site of the former Rito Stable. Link can talk to Traysi, who will pair them up to investigate the rumored sightings of Princess Zelda, though she keeps his identity a secret from him. This begins the Potential Princess Sightings! Side Adventure, which consists of the following Side Adventures activated by meeting Penn at each Stable:
- Princess Zelda Kidnapped?! at Dueling Peaks Stable
- White Goats Gone Missing at Tabantha Bridge Stable
- Gourmets Gone Missing at Riverside Stable
- The Missing Farm Tools at Wetland Stable
- The Beast and the Princess at New Serenne Stable
- The Beckoning Woman at Outskirt Stable
- Zelda's Golden Horse at Snowfield Stable
- The All-Clucking Cucco at South Akkala Stable
- For Our Princess! at Foothill Stable
- An Eerie Voice at Highland Stable
- The Blocked Well at Gerudo Canyon Stable
- Serenade to a Great Fairy at Woodland Stable
After all quests are completed, Penn will retire to Washa's Bluff, where a "famous bard" had once "perfected his craft".[4]

- In Japanese, Penn's catchphrase ("Soar long!" in English) is サラバード (sarabādo), which is a pun combining さらばだ (saraba da), meaning "farewell", with バード (bādo), representing the English word "bird".
