Notts is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[4][5]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Notts is a young Rito child who lives in Rito Village. She is the eldest daughter of Kass and Amali, making her the oldest sister of Kotts, Genli, Cree, and Kheel.
When Link first arrives in Rito Village, Notts will frequent Revali's Landing to practice her singing.[6] While she is there, she sits on the southern edge of the platform. If Link speaks to her, she will try to sing, but she admits that her voice has not been the same since Divine Beast Vah Medoh showed up.[7] She also apologizes for disappointing Link if he came to listen to her sing.[8] Before she goes to sleep for the night, she hopes the Divine Beast will be gone when she wakes up.[9]
After the "Divine Beast Vah Medoh" Main Quest has been completed, Link can encounter Notts' youngest sister, Kheel, at Warbler's Nest. If he speaks to her, she complains that Notts and her other sisters have forgotten to attend their rehearsal, as they are supposed to perform a song for Kaneli soon.[10] Noticing that Link is a "scary" Hylian, Kheel asks him to search for her sisters and remind them of their rehearsal.[11] After she finishes speaking, the "Recital at Warbler's Nest" Shrine Quest will begin.
When Link speaks to Genli in the Kitchen during the Shrine Quest, she will demand Salmon Meunière before she leaves to sing.[12] Notts, Kotts, and Cree have all left to gather ingredients to make Salmon Meunière for her, but they have not returned yet.[13]
Notts can be found singing on a ledge overlooking Akh Va'quot Shrine.[14] She explains that her song is entitled "Return of the Bird-Wrangling Hero," and she thanks Link for listening.[15] When Link reminds her of her promise to Kheel, she claims that she did not forget, as she was busy gathering ingredients for Genli's Salmon Meunière.[16] Since she finished early, she decided to start practicing until the others were ready.[17] However, she feels bad about making Kheel wait, so she gives Link her Tabantha Wheat so he can make Salmon Meunière for Genli.[18] Though Genli claims she cannot sing while hungry, Notts believes she is using that as an excuse.[19] At the end of their conversation, she wishes Link luck.[20]
If Link speaks to Notts again, she promises to go to Warbler's Nest once her other sisters are there.[21] She shares that Cree is at The Slippery Falcon and Kotts is at the entrance to Rito Village.[22]
Once Notts is at Warbler's Nest, she remarks that her singing sounds better due to practicing at rehearsal.[23] She then asks Link if he wants to hear the song she has been singing.[24] If Link agrees, the sisters will recite their song for him.
When Voo Lota Shrine emerges from the ground, Kheel will turn and point it out to her sisters.[25] Notts decides that they should tell their mother, Amali.[26] Kotts declares that the last one to reach her will be an unhatched egg,[27] and the sisters will fly back to Rito Village.
After returning to Rito Village, Notts can be found practicing with her sisters near Akh Va'quot Shrine. She sings when Link approaches, thanking her audience for listening to "Return of the Bird-Wrangling Hero."[28] After Kass returns to Rito Village, he plays his bandoneon along with their singing. Notts begins to sing a new song, which she calls "Birds of a Feather."[29] If Link speaks to her again, she explains that the song represents how happy she is that her father has come home.[2]
