The term Deku (pronounced /'deɪ kuː/) refers to everything that belongs to the forest-like Deku culture. The Great Deku Tree is the being from which the name is spawned. Other "Dekus" include Deku Scrubs, Deku Sticks, Deku Shield, Deku Nuts, Deku Seeds, Deku Baba and the Deku Tree Sprout.
The "Boko" culture seems to have emerged in The Wind Waker. No "Boko Tree" has yet been seen, but Boko Sticks, Boko Babas and Boko Baba Pods have. The Bokoblin, famous for weilding Boko Sticks has also been influenced by the "Bokos".
In the Oracle Series, we also meet a being called the Maku Tree. One of the mini-bosses in Twilight Princess is also called the Deku Toad, though the reason for the "Deku" part is not entirely known.
