Tailpasaran
Tailpasaran are enemies in Ocarina of Time.[1]
Characteristics
Tailpasaran are found exclusively Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Their slender bodies are flowing with electricity, so though most direct Sword attacks will kill them, they will also damage Link in return. Strikes from the Boomerang will immediately kill Tailpasaran. When initially encountered, Tailpasaran remain burrowed in the floors of Lord Jabu-Jabu's body. In this state, they cannot be killed by any means other than with the Boomerang. When approached, Tailpasaran will rise from their position and fly around in the air. While in the air, they will attempt to ram into Link.
Spin Attacks will destroy Tailpasaran without damaging Link. Deku Nuts can temporarily stun Tailpasaran.
Nomenclature
Tailpasaran derive their name from Moldorm's Japanese name, テール (Tēru) and pasaran from the mythological kesaran pasaran, a puffball creature. The same name is used for the Mario enemy rendered as "Hothead" in English, which is a sparking ball of electricity, similar to the tailpasaran's segments.
