Bloobers are squid guards that appear in the Catfish's Maw dungeon of Link's Awakening.
These classic white squid-like enemies are based on the Blooper from the Mario series. It should be noted that at the time Link's Awakening was made, they were still identified as "Bloobers" rather than their modern name, "Blooper", similar to Boo Buddy now being known as "Boo". As with their Mario counterparts, they move in diagonal, lurching motions towards Link, and commonly appear in pairs. They only appear in one passageway in the Catfish's Maw that leads to the Nightmare Key. Unlike their Mario counterparts, they can be dealt with easily using any weapon in Link's arsenal, with his Sword being most immediately effective.
Trivia
- Bloober's Japanese name, Gessō, is a pun on the Japanese word for squid tentacles, Template:Japanese.
