Craniocs are enemies that appear in Skyward Sword.
Characteristics and Weaknesses
Craniocs inhabit aquatic environments including Lake Floria, Lanayru Sand Sea and the Flooded Faron Woods. In his assault on Lake Floria, Ghirahim commanded the Craniocs to attack the Water Dragon Faron.[1] While she was distracted, Ghirahim had attacked and mortally wounded her.[2]
Their heads bear large, bulbous crowns, which they use to attack prey and settle disputes between others of their species by tackling. If a Cranioc spots Link, they will turn red and charge at the young hero. To defeat them, Link must spin into them, which will cause them to be stunned and flip over. After this, Link only needs to charge into them once more to kill them.
Etymology
Cranioc is derived from cranium, referring to their large heads.
