During the {{Term|TotK|Imprisoning War|link}} in the {{Term|TotK|Era of Myth|link}}, the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple}} was used as a refuge by {{Term|TotK|Rauru|link}} and his army after {{Term|TotK|Ganondorf|link}} attacks and kills {{Term|TotK|Sonia|link}}. In the {{Term|TotK|Memory|link}} "{{Term|TotK|The Sages' Vow|link}}", {{Term|TotK|Rauru}} meets with the leaders of the various tribes of {{Term|TotK|Hyrule|link}}. They report that the last remaining free village of the {{Plural|TotK|Gerudo|link}} has fallen to {{Term|TotK|Demon King Ganondorf|link}}.<ref>{{Cite|King Rauru... We just received word that the last free village in the Gerudo Desert has fallen. At this rate, the Demon King's army will overwhelm us.|Sage of Water|TotK}}</ref> Understanding the risk that the face, {{Term|TotK|Rauru}} opens the rear chamber of the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple|display=Temple}} to reveal a chamber where four {{Plural|TotK|Secret Stone|link}} are kept.<ref>{{Cite|I understand. Our only hope is for me to defeat the Demon King.|Rauru|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|Rauru. The Demon King... He is not someone you can stop by yourself. But...you are not alone. You have the Gerudo, Goron, Zora, and Rito leaders, as well as Zelda... And of course...you can count on me.|Mineru|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|There's something I'd like to show you all.|Rauru|TotK}}</ref> He grants these {{Plural|TotK|Secret Stone}} to the tribe leaders, allowing the {{Term|TotK|Zora|link}}, {{Term|TotK|Rito|link}}, {{Term|TotK|Goron|link}}, and {{Term|TotK|Gerudo}} leaders to respectively become the {{Term|TotK|Sage of Water|link|display=Sages of Water}}, {{Term|TotK|Sage of Wind|link|display=Wind}}, {{Term|TotK|Sage of Fire|link|display=Fire}}, {{Term|TotK|Sage of Lightning|link|display=Lightning}}. Together with the {{Term|TotK|Sage of Spirit|link}} {{Term|TotK|Mineru|link}} and the {{Term|TotK|Sage of Time|link}} {{Term|TotK|Zelda|link}}, the {{Plural|TotK|Sage|link}} swear their loyalty to him and vow to fight {{Term|TotK|Demon King Ganondorf}} alongside him.<ref>{{Cite|Stand with me. I need all your aid.|Rauru|TotK}}</ref><ref>{{Cite|We all, gathered here, swear on our lives to serve Rauru, the King of Light.|Six Sages|TotK}}</ref> After this, the late queen {{Term|TotK|Sonia}} is buried in this chamber.
In the {{Term|TotK|Memory}} "{{Term|TotK|A King's Duty|link}}", {{Term|TotK|Rauru}} can be seen visiting her grave and offering a lone {{Term|TotK|Sundelion|link}} in her memory. He is joined by {{Term|TotK|Zelda}}, who now remembers that {{Term|TotK|Demon King Ganondorf}} was the man she met {{Term|TotK|Beneath Hyrule Castle|link}} and deduces that their resistance to him is doomed to fail.<ref>{{Cite|I came... I came to this era after finding a man underground.|Princess Zelda|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|Hm. Go on.|Rauru|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|When I witnessed what the secret stone did to Ganondorf... At that moment, I knew for sure. What we found underground—that was him!|Princess Zelda|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|He was still alive... Still powerful... He continues to live on...all the way until my time! In tomorrow's battle... We won't be able to defeat him. No matter how strong we think we are, he'll survive!|Princess Zelda|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|And you... And you will...|Princess Zelda|TotK}}</ref> Despite her warnings, {{Term|TotK|Rauru}} insists that they must try and reminds her that they may yet rely on {{Term|TotK|Link|link}}'s help in the future.<ref>{{Cite|Maybe so... But it is my duty to try. It was my hubris that set us on this path. I must atone for my error in judgement.|Rauru|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|And above all else... I remain the king of Hyrule. As with any leader, it is my duty to safeguard and protect my people. Even if I must risk my life.|Rauru|TotK}}<br/>{{Cite|Rauru...|Princess Zelda|TotK}}</ref><ref>{{Cite|And if it proves impossible for us to defeat Ganondorf...we rely on your knight...and that legendary sword he carries. Our last line of defense will be Link.|Rauru|TotK}}</ref> In the adjacent room, {{Term|TotK|Hylian|link}} soldiers can be seen preparing for battle.
At some point after the {{Term|TotK|Imprisoning War}}'s end, the back wall of the {{Term|TotK|Secret Stone}} chamber is torn down and a hallway to a new chamber is built. This new chamber houses a {{Term|TotK|Floor Map|link}} that depicts the 11 {{Plural|TotK|Dragon's Tear|link}} atop the geography of {{Term|TotK|Hyrule}} at the time. An oculus in the ceiling sits over the {{Term|TotK|Floor Map}}, and inside this oculus there is a large {{Term|TotK|Light (Item)|link}} protected with {{Term|TotK|Zonai|link}}-style lattice. A stone memorial sitting just northeast of the {{Term|TotK|Floor Map}} is engraved with the phrase, "A tear with a tear".<ref>{{Cite|A tear with a tear|N/A|TotK}}</ref> The {{Term|TotK|Mother Goddess Statue|link}} is also added at some point to the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple}} after the {{Term|TotK|Imprisoning War}}, and the floor leading to the {{Term|TotK|Secret Stone}} chamber is heavily altered. {{Plural|TotK|Sundelion}} begin to grow at {{Term|TotK|Sonia}}'s grave after {{Term|TotK|Rauru}} left one as an offering to his late wife.
In the present time, the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple}} shows signs of travelers visiting. {{Plural|TotK|Wooden Box|link}} and {{Plural|TotK|Board|link}} can be found throughout and around its grounds. Due to the {{Term|TotK|Upheaval|link}}, various features of the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple}} have been altered. The {{Term|TotK|Mother Goddess Statue}} has been toppled, and the {{Term|TotK|Mayausiy Shrine|link}} has appeared inside the {{Term|TotK|Forgotten Temple|display=Temple}}.
