Kagoron's name is likely a portmanteau of the Japanese word, {{Romanize|鍵|Kagi|Key}}, and Goron. This is reflected in his appearance, and that of his storage house containing the {{Term|ST|Freight Car}}, which are both covered in markings resembling keys.
