The Light Tower is a location appearing in Skyward Sword. It is a tall, scalable pillar located near the southern tip of Skyloft. During Link's quest to rescue Zelda, he must activate the tower in order to infiltrate the thick layer of storm clouds enveloping the Thunderhead.

History

Hidden in the lyrics of the Ballad of the Goddess are the instructions to activating the Light Tower.[1] Following the clues, Link uses the Gust Bellows to redirect the two windmills until they face the Light Tower. A section of the tower then raises from the center, revealing a gazebo-like structure at the top of the tower. Link climbs up to investigate, and pulls out the Goddess's Harp, strumming in time to Fi's beat. The platform rotates, and a beam of concentrated sunlight is projected through an ornate glass window and fired directly at the Thunderhead. This bright emanation successfully clears a small portion of the thick, swirling cloud cover of the Thunderhead, allowing Link to fly in on his Loftwing.

A Sacred Tear is located atop the Light Tower in Skyloft's Silent Realm, as well as a lone Guardian.
