The Mad Bomber[1] is an enemy that only appears once in Link's Awakening. He is one of Richard's soldiers who had become Darknuts. He can be found hiding in deep holes within the courtyard area of Kanalet Castle, and tosses Bombs from a distance. He will choose a hole at random and throw a Bomb quickly each time. The Bombs will explode fast, and may knock Link into pits as well as cause damage, making him a dangerous foe. To defeat this quick and agile soldier, Link must anticipate which hole he will appear in, and strike him as soon as he pops out. After causing enough damage Link will defeat him. Doing so will earn Link one of the five Golden Leaves that he must acquire for Richard. Once defeated, the Mad Bomber will not return.
