In a recent interview with Industry Gamers, Eiji Aonuma talked about several aspects of the Zelda franchise.

Industry Gamers: The 'HD Experience' demo that was shown of Zelda, is that representative of just how good a new Zelda on the Wii U would look?

Eiji Aonuma: Well, one thing I want to emphasize here, when talking about the Wii U Zelda HD experience, is that we really built it specifically to be an experience. The idea is using Zelda as the backdrop for one of these HD experiences, what kind of representation Zelda can make there. But this is really just to show people what kind of things the console can do. And so, it’s not necessarily the case that we would use that graphic style or depiction the same way we would in a new Zelda, when there is a new Zelda for the Wii U. Just like the map functionality that was also implemented in that experience - it’s simply us giving an objective look at the kinds of things that can be done with the HD hardware. And Zelda happened to be the filter through which we view it in that experience. So nothing is defined right now as far as how we’ll proceed.

So the Wii U Zelda should prove interesting with all of the new features it provides. The touchscreen on the controller sporting the items and other menu's will save on screen space and allow for more seamless game play.

As well as learn a little more info on the upcoming Skyward Sword soundtrack.

To celebrate the 3D remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 3DS, we’ve been fortunate enough to have some of Koji Kondo’s time to discuss the game’s soundtrack. While this interview was conducted before the promotional soundtrack disc and 25th anniversary world tour were announced, Kondo still has some interesting things to say about his work on the Ocarina of Time soundtrack as well as the upcoming Skyward Sword title on the Wii.

File:Iwata.jpg

The latest Iwata Asks interview for Ocarina of Time 3D is now up, and this time it features the team from Grezzo! They talk about how they handled recreating the classic Zelda title for the 3DS, including implementing the 3D, how to remain faithful to the original while still making it a new experience, as well as a neat little tidbit: while some glitches were purged since they were harmful to gameplay, others were preserved and fine-tuned so that they work more like intended features! Though I'm not a glitching man myself, it's good to see that preserving the original was so important that even the glitches remained!

The Iwata Asks feature on the Nintendo site has recently released an interesting interview regarding Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64, as well as for the 3DS. This interview is between Iwata, a CEO of Nintendo, and the development staff for Ocarina of Time N64. Things brought up in the interview include development issues encountered in the original N64 version of Ocarina of Time, and simply a ton of answered questions that may or may not have been known before. Since the interview is far too long to put here in full, part 1 has been put for you to read. Here is a link that will take you to the part 1 listed here, as well as the other 7 parts. Obviously, it is quite a long interview! Enjoy!
