The Mermaid Suit is an item found in Mermaid's Cave, the sixth dungeon of Oracle of Ages. This item is an upgrade for the Zora's Flippers found in Cheval's Tomb. The Mermaid Suit transform him in Merman Link when he enters in very deep masses of water (sea, flooded caves). It permit Link to swim without drowning and also do it faster. Furthermore, he now can enter in diving mode to explore the seabed, secrect flooded passages, submarine caves, etc. It is operated by tapping the direction Link wants to go.[1] This allows Link to explore the seabed and to swim against currents.
Underwater, Link can still use items such as the Switch Hook and the sword.
