The Nintendo 3DS is the next Generation of Handheld Gaming from Nintendo. Like previous DS consoles, it features dual screens, with the lower screen being a touch screen. However, the top screen is able to produce "3D effects without glasses" via a process called autostereoscopy. It is due to be released in Japan on February 26th 2011, Europe on March 25th 2011, America on March 27th 2011, and Australia on March 31st, 2011. The console with feature backwards compatiblity with the DS and DSi consoles.

Virtual Console

The 3DS will feature a Virtual Console, which will feature games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, as well as 3D versions of "Classic Games." It is unknown whether or not this will be marketed the same as the Wii. It is also unknown how these games will be downloaded via the 3DS itself. The price has yet to be announced.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a Nintendo 3DS remake of the Nintendo 64 game, Ocarina of Time. It was officially announced in E3 2010, where only a couple of screenshots of the introduction were released. It is slated for a Spring 2011 release.
