The Mascot characters in BS Zelda and BS The Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets are the actual two mascots of the Satellaview system. However, in most ROMs located online, the sprite of Link usually replaces the Mascot's.

Mascot (male) is the co-protagonist in BS Zelda as well as BS The Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets. He replaces Link in this role; however, his true name is unknown. All that is known is that he wears a Green Tunic, just like Link, but has green hair, and wears a red and white baseball cap. In BS Zelda, there is another protagonist of this story that happens to be known as Mascot (female).

Mascot (female) is the other protagonist of BS Zelda as well as BS The Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets. She replaces Link in this role, just like Mascot (male); and just like him, her name is unknown. All that is known is that she wears a small White Bow in her vast amount of red hair. She is the only other character used in the BS Zelda series along with Mascot (male).

BS The Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets

In this adventure, the Mascot's appear in Hyrule from A Link to the Past right after Link has finished his quest and defeated Ganon. Princess Zelda meets the Mascot, and speaks to the Mascot's about his/her mysterious origins. She says he/she reminds her of Link.

The Character sprites in this game mimic the sprites from BS Zelda, but are more intuned to the ALttP graphical sprites.

They are basically ALttP Link's character model with (male): Green Hair/Baseball Cap - (female): Red Hair/Small White Bow.
