Skull Mask

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia

Template:Mask Resembling the skull of an unknown creature, the Skull Mask is a mask from Ocarina of Time. It may be obtained for twenty Rupees at the Happy Mask Shop after paying for the Keaton Mask. As part of the Mask Trading Sequence, the Skull Mask is sold to the Skull Kid in the Lost Woods.

  • While wearing the Skull Mask, Link will not be targeted by Keese.
  • To upgrade Link's Deku Stick capacity, wear the Skull Mask at the Forest Stage in the Lost Woods.
  • Talking to people while wearing the Skull Mask will solicit different reactions.

Trivia

  • The Skull Mask is similar in shape and appearance to that of the Lake Scientist, and may be loosely based off of him. The pendant wore by the Big Poes in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask looks very similar to the Skull Mask.
  • If Link talks to a Kokiri near Mido or Saria's house, he will say if Link is going to scare Mido with the mask but it doesn't do anything to Mido.
  • In the Ocarina of Time manga, this mask is used by the villain in a play operated by the Kokiri. Skull Kid will eventually buy this mask from Link.
