Template:Dungeons

The Skyview Temple, sometimes referred to in-game as the Forest Temple, is a temple in Skyward Sword. Its minibosses are a Stalfos and a Staldra, and the main item obtained is the Template:It.

How to reach

To reach the Skyview Temple, Link must surface in the Deep Woods area in an attempt to search for Zelda. After aiding Machi, The Elder and the other creatures of its species, Link will be given the Slingshot, which Link can use to open the path to the Skyview Temple. To open the door to the Skyview Temple, Link must hit a Crystal Switch by using his Slingshot, and Link will then walk inside.

Concept

The Skyview Temple makes heavy use of making Link hit Crystal Switches to change the water level, raising said water will allow for further progression. Later, after defeating a Stalfos minboss, Link will be rewarded with the Beetle, which allows Link to hit certain switches he could not hit before, which can open doors or allow Link to collect a Piece of Heart, as well as cut certain ropes making crates fall to the ground.

The boss of this area is Ghirahim who Link can defeat by getting around Ghirahim's guard and striking him with his sword, or countering one of Ghirahim's attacks. After so much punishment, Ghirahim will escape, and leave a Heart Container for Link to collect.

Link may then leave the temple to head to the Sacred Ground in the hopes that Zelda would be there, but she is not. Link will hit the ancient symbol with a Skyward Strike to obtain the Stone Tablet before automatically leaving.
