Telma's Bar is a small, out-of-the-way hangout located down the southernmost alleyway of the Hyrule Castle Town South Road in Twilight Princess. It is reputed to be popular amongst soldiers and traveling swordsmen alike. Telma's Bar is owned by Telma, a brave and kind-hearted Gerudo woman who accompanies Link and Ilia in transporting a sick Ralis to Kakariko Village for medical treatment. After spending a short time in Kakariko Village, she soon returns to her position as proprietress of the bar, welcoming Link if he should ever enter in the future.

Link first visits Telma's Bar while the Lanayru Province is covered in Twilight. Here, he finds that Ilia has been staying with Telma after King Bulblin kidnapped her from the Ordona Province, and has been caring for the injured Prince Ralis, whom she found collapsed in the road and brought him to the bar. After returning light to the area, Link arrives at the bar just in time to witness that the town doctor refuses to treat Prince Ralis, saying that Zoras are beyond his expertise. Just then, Telma is then reminded of a shaman in Kakariko Village who has treated both Zoras and Gorons, and after the Hylian Soldiers cowardly refuse to escort them to the Eldin Province, Telma notices that Link is up to the task. Although Link tries to talk to Ilia in the bar, Telma informs him that the young girl has lost her memory.
Telma's Bar is most notable as the headquarters of "The Group", four members of Hyrule's elite (Rusl, Auru, Shad, and Ashei) whose mission is to help Link destroy the land's darkness brought on by Zant and indrectly, Ganondorf himself, through the collection of Mirror Shards.  Although it is not absolutely necessary to return to the bar throughout the course of Link's journey, certain members of "The Group" venture on their own to the location of the next Mirror Shard; by talking to the rest of "The Group", they will direct Link in the direction of the missing member. The first time human Link ventures into Telma's Bar, he meets "The Group", but they speak very little before snubbing him off, pouring over their map of Hyrule; they only realize Link's worth after he successfully completes the Lakebed Temple.

A passage outside the bar links to the dungeons of Hyrule Castle: perhaps one reason, convenience and comfort aside, why the aforementioned group meets there in particular. Louise, Telma's cat, will eventually direct Wolf Link to this hidden passage leading to Hyrule Castle, and will later help Wolf Link find the Wooden Statue to restore Ilia's memory.
If Link enters the bar after taking Telma, Ilia, and Prince Ralis to Kakariko Village, "The Group" will be inside, but will treat him harshly. After Zant steals the Fused Shadows and curses both Link and Midna, the young hero must traverse the loft of the bar as a wolf in order to access the Castle Town Sewers and reach Princess Zelda to save the dying Midna, where he will be able to overhear "The Group" talking about him and considering apologizing for their previous behavior.

Once Link withdraws the Master Sword from the Sacred Grove, Telma will send Link a letter informing him that her friends have arrived. Here, the members of "The Group" will properly introduce themselves and apologize for their behavior. Each of them will also help him locate a different piece of the Mirror of Twilight, and the young hero will be able to come back to the bar at any time to receive clues from them as to where to go next for the missing mirror shards.
Later on in the game, Link must once again return to the bar and show Telma Renado's letter, which details how to help recover Ilia's memory. Telma then gives the Invoice to the young hero that he must give to the Dr. Borville.
The bar is last seen during the ending credits, where the Castle Guards will be celebrating now that Hyrule is at peace.
