In Oracle of Seasons, the Western Coast is a small shore located directly west of Horon Village, and serves as one of the first areas Link can access in Holodrum. The beach serves as a holding place for a small pseudo-dungeon known as Hero's Cave, one of the first trials Link must face, and where he initially obtains a sword.
The cave and its guarded blade seem to be the only reason Western Coast was developed to be a part of the game, as no other areas or items of significance can be found here.
