Zora Link

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia

Zora Link is the form Link takes after putting on the Zora's Mask. The item is vital to the Great Bay Temple. Zora Link is specific to Majora's Mask. Pressing B three times will make him lunge his right arm forward, then swing, attempting to hit something with the left fin, and end with him kicking up in the air, in a three-move combo. Hold the B button, and he will put his hands together. Release, and his two arm-fins will break off and fly around like Boomerangs, flying in the air and eventually coming back to him. Zora Link can swim like a fish, which is much faster and more freely-controlled than any other incarnation of Link. Just pressing the A button will do it. While doing this, you can swim towards the surface, and he will leap in the air, much like a dolphin. He can also sink, and walk on the bottom of the body of water you are in.

Official Art of Zora Link

Jumping like a dolphin is key to defeating Gyorg. If you don't use that technique, he will chew you. Zora Link's boomerangs come in handy, and so does his next ability. While in the water, you can press the R button to make an electric aura around you. You can swim into enemies, and they take damage. Most die from this, but some like Gyorg just take damage. Pressing the R button on land will extend his right fin and make it into a shield. By holding both B and R, you can create an electric aura on land, and move with it by holding Z (like moving with a normal shield).

Trivia

  • His version of the Ocarina of Time is the Guitar of Waves.
  • Dogs will come running up to you and make a whimpering sound, showing they like you.
  • The "putting on the mask" cutscene will make Link's eyes big and black and give him a big mouth, much like a combination of the Deku Link's and Goron Link's transformation.
  • All Zora have a fin coming out of their heads. Zora Link has a green and pointed fin, much like Link's hat.
  • There are 3 well known glitches involving Zora Link. The first is here. The second is regarding that shed in Romani Ranch. First become a Goron. Then bounce up onto the shed. Becoming a Zora will allow you to jump into the Romani Racetrack. The final can be done at Great Bay. Swim a little bit. Use the Dolphin Jump at the end of a swim move. In the middle of the jump, use a swim move. As long as you remain Zora, keep swimming and avoid above-water obstacles, you will be able to fly as a Zora. Medli, from a bird race called Rito, being Laruto's successor, could reference this glitch.
