The Fierce Deity Mask,(BotWBreath of the Wild | TotKTears of the Kingdom | HWHyrule Warriors)[1][2][3] also known as the Fierce Deity's Mask,(MMMajora's Mask | MM3DMajora's Mask 3D | HWHyrule Warriors)[4][5][note 1] is a powerful recurring Item in The Legend of Zelda series.
The Fierce Deity's Mask is one of five Masks that transforms Link when worn. It transforms Link into Fierce Deity Link, where Link has a unique, very tall adult form and voice, and allows him to manifest the Fierce Deity Sword. His attack power and range is greatly increased (roughly the same as the Great Fairy Sword), and his sword can release Sword Beams at the cost of Magic. When obtained, it is suggested to be as dangerous as Majora's Mask.[6][7]
Link can obtain the Fierce Deity's Mask by trading the twenty non-transformation Masks to the four Moon Children. Since the Deku Mask, Goron Mask, and the Zora Mask cannot be traded, Link must have in his possession all of the other Masks before being able to receive the Fierce Deity's Mask. Once this has been done, the young hero obtains the Mask from the child wearing Majora's Mask. He gives him the Mask so that the two of them can "play" together. It is said to possess the merits of all Masks.[8]
The Fierce Deity's Mask can only be used during Boss battles,[7] and, in Majora's Mask 3D, Fishing Holes. However, its combat capabilities are disabled inside Fishing Holes, and the Fishing Hole Men will forbid Link from leaving while wearing it.[9]

Introduced in Hyrule Warriors's Majora's Mask Pack, Fierce Deity Masks are tier 1 MaskWeapons usable by Young Link. They are associated with the Element of Darkness. Young Link can also use the Fierce Deity Mask to temporarily transform into Fierce Deity Link during Focus Spirit with the Mask, as well briefly during his Special Attack. While in Focus Spirit, Young Link can manifest the Fierce Deity Sword, and his attack power, speed and range is heightened for the duration of the Focus Spirit. As Young Link is able to play the Ocarina of Time to empty his Special Attack Gauges and fill his Magic Gauge, it is possible for Young Link to stay in his Focus Spirit for lengthy periods of time.
Trivia
The adult Link Mask in an earlier version of Majora's Mask
Despite not being required to complete the game, Link obtaining the Fierce Deity's Mask is stated to be canon in Hyrule Historia.[11]
In the Japanese text of the game, the child wearing Majora's Mask specifically states that he wants to play tag with Link. This is a play on words as the Japanese text states that the Fierce Deity's Mask is a mask an oni (a type of Japanese ogre) wears, and the Japanese name for tag is "pretending to be an oni."
In the original Nintendo 64 version of Majora's Mask, when the Fierce Deity's Mask is first obtained after trading all 20 non-transformation Masks, a glitch prevents the use of the other transformation Mask against Majora.[12] This was fixed in Majora's Mask 3D.[13]
Early screenshots of Majora's Mask show an adult Link Mask that was most likely replaced by Fierce Deity's Mask. In Hyrule Historia, the Majora's Mask section contains concept art of Adult Link, stating that it could have been a prototype of Fierce Deity Link.[14]
Through a glitch, it is possible to use this mask without being in boss rooms.
Eiji Aonuma suggested that Fierce Deity's Mask contained the memories of all the residents of Termina.[15]
