The Kochi Dye Shop,(BotWBreath of the Wild | TotKTears of the Kingdom | HWAoCHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)[1][2][3] also known as the Dye Shop,(BotWBreath of the Wild | TotKTears of the Kingdom)[4][5] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.
Features and Overview
Breath of the Wild
The Kochi Dye Shop is located in Hateno Village. It is the only Shop of its kind in Hyrule. Sayge operates the Dye Shop itself, while his wife, Senna, greets visitors outside.[6] At night, their son Sefaro sleeps in one of the Shop's Beds, muttering about a Sheikah girl.[7]
At the Kochi Dye Shop, Sayge can use Hateno Dyes to change the color of Link's Armor.[8] The procedure costs 20 Rupees, but Link must provide five Materials of matching color as well.[9] In the past, the Kochi Dye Shop would be able to prepare these Materials themselves, but the increased number of Monsters has made their collection difficult.[10] As a result, the Shop started allowing customers to bring their own Materials, with the addition of a service charge.[11] As is tradition in Hateno Village, Link's entire outfit will be Dyed at once.[12][13] Sayge is also able to restore Link's Armor to its original appearance.[14]
When Link decides to Dye his Armor, he will be transported to the nearby platform, where Sayge prompts him to either choose a Hateno Dye color or change his Armor.[15][16] If Link is wearing Armor that cannot be Dyed, Sayge will warn him of this fact.[17] After selecting a Dye color, Sayge then asks for five Materials that match.[18] He then asks Link for his 20 Rupee payment.[19] Once everything has been finalized, Sayge thanks Link and instructs him to stay still,[20] at which point he drops him and his Materials into the basin below. When Link leaves the basin, his entire outfit will have been Dyed.[21][22][23][24] Sayge will also offer to redo the Dye if Link dislikes it.[25]

Hateno dyeing is a tradition craft of Hateno Village. In days past, we'd use our own prepared dye ingredients. But these days, there are so many monsters about, that it's difficult for us to gather ingredients...
— Sayge (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
That's why we switched to the customer bringing us the dye ingredients, and in return, we have a small service charge.
