In TLoZ, the Blue Ring is a defensive artifact that cuts all damage Link takes in half. It is not as powerful as the Red Ring, which reduces damage to a quarter of its original amount.
In TLoZ, Link can equip the Blue Ring to take half the amount of damage he would normally. In the First Quest, it can be purchased for 250 Rupees in a Shop within a Cave accessed through a staircase hidden beneath an Armos. In the Second Quest, it is sold for 250 Rupees in a different location in the northeastern portion of Hyrule. While Link has the Blue Ring equipped, his tunic is white. Certain characters, items and enemies share colors with Link's tunic and will appear white while Link has the Blue Ring equipped, such as Zelda's dress, the Arrow and the whiskers of a Pols Voice. The Blue Ring can be replaced with the Red Ring found in Level-9, which reduces the amount of damage Link takes to a quarter of what he normally would.

The Blue Ring is found in a secret shop north-west from the starting area, hidden beneath an Armos Statue. It is sold by the Merchant there for 250 Rupees. In the Second Quest, it is located in the furthest north-eastern corner of Hyrule where it is again sold by a Merchant for the same amount of Rupees.
Oracle Series
The Magic Ring reduces all damage to Link by half. Link can obtain the Blue Ring in OoA.<!--Where and How?--> Link can also obtain the Blue Ring in an OoS Linked Game by transferring the ring with either the Ring Link or a Ring Secret.
When this ring is in possession, Link's tunic changes into a bluish, periwinkle color. Wearing the Blue Ring will also cause the Merchants' clothing, Princess Zelda's dress, and select items in Link's inventory to appear blue.

Oracle of Ages
The Magic Ring found in OoA has the same effect as the one found in the original The Legend of Zelda: reducing all damage that Link takes by half. However, it does not change the color of his tunic. Using either the Ring Link option or a Ring Secret will transfer the ring to OoS.

In TSP, the Blue Ring makes another appearance, although its use is completely different from the one seen in the games and actually leads to a Game Over if Link receives this item. The young hero can obtain the Blue Ring from Charles of Moria if he decides to stay at North Castle and chooses to fight Charles after he hears him talking to some monsters. Link drops down from the tree and demands that Charles stop his evil magic, challenging him to a fight. Confused, the Morian knight tells the young hero that he just wants to be his friend, and gives him a Blue Ring as part of a Morian custom of exchanging gifts.
