Naming

Technically Heart Piece is incorrect. It has been know as a Piece of Heart ever since the idea was introduced. Therefore Heart piece should be redirected to Piece of Heart. Vgm3985 12:43 January 9, 2007 (CST)

These articles were merged due to their closeness. Both articles were basically the same.

I don't agree. But I agree that in every game the "Heart Piece" has been known as Piece of Heart. But, Heart Container is something completely different. Piece of Heart are simply Pieces of a Heart Container. A Heart Container is an item that gives you an extra life, whereas Piece of Heart add up to 1 full Heart Container, they don't give you an extra life immediately.

Are you using "extra life" to mean "heart container"? I'm pretty sure that's not compatible with the usual definition. --Document 19:01, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Merge

If the merge happens, there will need to be a serious re-write to accomodate both articles into an easy-to-read format. I, uh... I can always do that.

This talk page

The section titles added in this edit seem kind of arbitrary. Maybe it'd be useful to look up the context of the posts and add annotations, to make it clear specifically what each one is replying to? --Document 02:24, 12 February 2008 (EST)

I guess. I just wanted to show clearly where the discussion about the merge was, and where it wasn't. Is that any better? —Adam (talk) 02:30, 12 February 2008 (EST)
Dunno; I still can't be arsed to look up what Vgm and Cipriano were talking about. It still looks like Cielagahnim is talking about whether to merge Piece of Heart with Heart Container, though. --Document 12:53, 13 February 2008 (EST)

2/4 Pieces of Heart vs 1/2 Pieces of Heart

Can I clarify the [sic] in the following?

I'm not sure where the text comes from to start with, but isn't 2/4 correct to start with, instead of "should be: 1/2" from the tooltip the template produces? Two Pieces of heart out of a set of 4 Pieces of heart have been obtained?

Reading the similar gallery images, "Icon of 1/2 Heart from A Link Between Worlds" "Artwork of 1/2 Heart from A Link Between Worlds", then it might be considered a [sic] if it said "2/4 Heart", instead of "2/4 Pieces of Heart"; If it doesn't say whether the fraction refers to 'Heart' or 'Pieces of Heart', then I don't think "2/4" can be considered a mistake even if other games have "1/2" - (I note that Minish Cap manual says "You can see the number of Pieces of Heart you have.")

The "2/4 Piece of Heart" comes from the inventory screen in The Minish Cap, though I suppose taking it as "two out of four" would be more accurate than "two fourths". I initially took it as a sort of 'halfway there' type of thing, but perhaps that interpretation was wrong. - TonyT S C 05:24, 30 December 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So would it be fine to remove the {Typo} ? At the moment it says "2/4 Pieces of Heart" which seems acceptable as '2 out of 4' (and actually, the 'correction' to '1/2 Pieces of Heart' would be incorrect in either interpretation, wouldn't it?). Oh, Happy New Year too :) --KokoroSenshi (talk | contribs) 13:48, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sorry, I didn't see this in the RC. Yeah I think it's fine to remove the template. - TonyT S C 14:37, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
