File Names

Hi, first of all we wanted to thank you for helping us replace all those gif files with pngs, however, we would really appreciate if you could upload them with the proper naming convention seen here. Unlinked sources

Hello there. I've been in the process of going over some edits made in October. And I've been noticing in a number of your uploads, such as screenshots taken from Naver or youtube videos, do not have their sources linked. This is an issue, as it is simply not enough to name the source without directly linking to it. Any file that was taken directly from a website or video needs to be sourced and linked back to the page it was taken from. Preferably the exact page.

A notable example of this would be File:MM Sakon's Hideout.png. Currently the source listed is "Youtube video" without a link to the video it was taken from. I cannot possibly determine which video this screenshot was originally from. If you happen to know the source of it, it'd be great if you could link back to said video. But in general, please always be sure to link back to the proper source.

Also, it is preferable that you do not crop the interface from screenshots, such as those from Link's Awakening. Cropping the interface may have been something we allowed a decade ago, but we don't do this anymore. Thank you for your help and patience. Midoro (talk) 20:50, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Linking back to sources is necessary so that 1) the website or original content creator may be properly credited. And 2) it enables proper documentation. If a file was taken from another site or video, it's simply best to directly link back to the source. Midoro (talk) 19:09, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
