French names?

I've been noticing you adding French names to certain pages. Are these names taken from official sources, or are they just translations of the English names? User:Fizzle8094/sig 13:02, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Just to clarify, though: There's no problem with you adding French names so long as they're actually used in official sources (the games themselves, the instruction booklets, etc.), but if they're just from fan sites like Puissance Zelda and Palais Zelda, I'm afraid they shouldn't really be added to the wiki unless they can be confirmed and we know these are names that have actually been used by Nintendo. — Hylian King ^[*] 23:02, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Twilit Bloat

Hello,

May I ask where you are getting the name Roi Parasite from? The name doesn't seem to appear in the game and I can't find it on the official Twilight Princess site. Thanks!

If it was from game dialogue, it would appear here. I could not find it there.

For the sake of accuracy, it would be much appreciated if you could confirm an official source for a name before adding it to an article. Names from the actual games, the games' instruction booklets (modes d'emploi), and official Nintendo sites are all acceptable. Fan-made names are not. We're not interested in fan translations and do not want you simply translating the English names yourself (as seems to be the case here and here). Please only add names that you can find in official Nintendo documents, either the text of the games themselves, instruction booklets, official guides (e.g. this guide), or official Nintendo websites. Please do not add names from fan sites such as Le Palais de Zelda or http://fr.zelda.wikia.com/ without first confirming an official source for these names.

Juste un rappel: Pour Template:Names, on cherche uniquement les noms qui furent officiellement traduits en français par Nintendo. Il ne s'agit pas simplement de traduire les noms anglais nous-mêmes (comme il semblerait que tu as fait ici et ici). SVP ajoute seulement les noms retrouvés dans de documents officiels de Nintendo: soit le texte des jeux, les livrets inclus avec les jeux, les guides officiels (ex. ce guide), et les sites web officiels. SVP n'ajoute pas des noms de sites comme Le Palais de Zelda ou http://fr.zelda.wikia.com/ sans avant confirmer une source officielle pour ces noms.

Salut Hylian King Je te répond directement en français, concernant (ici), elle est sont issues d'un guide officiel français. Pour celui çi je ne retrouve plus l'origine, désolé. Rien à voir mais seriez-vous prêt à faire une collaboration avec le wiki Français comme celui qui existe avec les allemands ?

Hi Hylian King I will respond directly to French on (28Enemy% 29 & diff = 378378 & oldid = 374620 here), it is derived from a French official guide. For the çi I can not find more originally, sorry. Nothing to do but would you be willing to do a collaboration with the French wiki as exists with the Germans wiki ?

J'aime bien l'idée d'une affiliation. Cependant cela ne sera pas possible tant que vous êtes sur le réseau de Wikia, qui vous mets en affiliation avec un de nos concurrents, Zeldapedia. D'ailleurs, Zelda Wiki est un site indépedant qui fait parti de NIWA, une alliance anti-Wikia qui supporte des wikis idépendants (incluant quelques anciens sites Wikia). Toutefois, j'en parlerai aux autres membres du personnel. :)

I really like the idea of affiliating. Unfortunately, this won't be possible as long as you are on the Wikia network, which puts you in affiliation with one of our competitors, Zeldapedia. Furthermore, Zelda Wiki is an independent site and part of NIWA, an anti-Wikia alliance that supports independant wikis (including a few ex-Wikia sites).
