Hello

Hi there, Krystal4270, and welcome to Zelda Wiki! Why not check out the community hub? To find out what's been going on recently at the wiki and what articles users are editing right now, head to the Recent Changes. For general wiki-related discussion and questions, head over to the Discussion Center. Also, for wiki usage and policy help, check out our Help Guide. We hope you enjoy the wiki. Thanks!

Gardevoir and Saria

Hey, just thought I'd message you about the Saria page incidents. As per our Editing Etiquette, when it comes to situations where editors have disagreements: instead of trying to force your edit (or opinion), I would recommend bringing it up on the article's (or the opposing individual's) talk page instead to get feedback from your fellow editors, if only to see why they think your stance is wrong.
I would also like to ask you to please not command other editors to "leave it alone"; wikis are meant to change, and if another finds something that you add to be sub-par, it's much better to handle it through communicative discourse instead of reversions. While I've reverted the edit, I recommend that you wait to add the information to the page until you bring it up on the talk page, asking for feedback. If more users disagree with your stance and find it not noteworthy, then I wouldn't add it back, since that'd just cause more trouble. Thanks for understanding. - TonyT S C 04:38, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Off-Topic Discussions

Hey, I'd just like to remind you that Zelda Wiki is not a place for discussing whether you think Miyamoto and Aonuma support only one ship, or how a game changed your brother's perspective on a character. The purpose of talk pages is to foster discussion about the page itself, and not of the topic itself. If you would like to share your opinions and feelings on a particular subject, then I would ask you to please take it to any one of our affiliates' forums. There, that type of discussion is encouraged, whereas here, it's really not beneficial to anybody. Thanks. - TonyT S C 16:46, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'll have you know that nothing has to be a certain way, sharing an opinion does not have to be beneficial, and the 1st amendment gives us freedom of speech. No problems here. If you have qualms with my words, I'm open to constructive criticism.--Krystal 21:33, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Pakkun was only explaining our policy to you. If you choose to ignore it, there will be consequences eventually, up to and including a temporary editing ban. Second, talk page messages are to be kept on one page instead of replying back and forth. It makes the conversation difficult to read when going through archives.
And for the record, the amendments do not govern Zelda Wiki. We have policies made by staff that you can view in our help guides.User:Justin ZW/sig 22:02, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
I've moved this back to your talk page, since that's where it should be. As Justin said, I'm just recommending that you take it somewhere else. If you chose not to follow it, it may result in a temp ban per policy, though I hope it doesn't come to that.
Irrelevant discussions still must be patrolled and marked with the Off Topic tag, as part of our duty as staff, so it is giving us more work to do when we could be focusing on actually improving the wiki. Those types of discussions are not what this wiki is for, and that's an immutable fact.
In addition to the general Help Guide, you're more than welcome to give this a read. Courtesy is paramount. :) - TonyT S C 23:13, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm sure its easy for admins to say that because of how much they can get away with. And those fangames didn't change my bro's perspective, they outright destroyed his entire fandom. He had a childhood crush on Saria that turned to vgl, and thanks to those fan games, he is now terrified of her. Like I said, any and all arguments against this are invalid.--Krystal 23:58, 4 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The staff must comply to the same regulations as everyone else. We do not use this wiki for discussions of anything else than what is absolutely pertinent to the wiki. - TonyT S C 03:06, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you can find any instances of staff members failing to comply with policies, you are fully encouraged to report them to another active staff member in a civil manner. I assure you that we hold each other to the same standards that we hold our users.User:Justin ZW/sig 11:11, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Hilda article

Hey Krystal,

We appreciate that you want to help bring the wiki up to speed with A Link Between Worlds. However, please refrain from copying content from other wikis. Zelda Wiki prides itself on having completely original content, as stated in our quality standards. Copying from Zeldapedia in particular is also copyright violation as we have different content licenses.

Thanks! — Hylian King [*] 02:06, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If you have a better summary, let's see it.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Krystal 02:25, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File extensions

Hi Kyrstal. I wanted to thank you for uploading that image of Yuga and Ganon's combined form recently. However, you may or may not have noticed that its file extension was capitalized (i.e. .PNG instead of .png), and our quality standards state that all files must have uncapitalized file extensions. I've already changed the image's name (it can now be found here), but I just wanted to let you know so that this doesn't happen again in the future. Thanks! Saria

Kystal, this is not acceptable. Champion of Nayru provided a reason for removing the trivia. If you disagree with it, you are to bring this up on the talk page so that all editors may discuss it. Whether or not the trivia stays will be decided as a group. Under no circumstance are you to engage in edit warring as you just did.

Pakkun has already spoken to you about forcing your edits. Consider what I'm telling you to be a reminder, but also a warning: we will not tolerate further behavior of this kind.

No one likes to have their edits reverted. I understand that. However, this is a wiki; disagreements come with the territory. To resolve them, we need you to be able to collaborate with others. There is no cause to be spiteful. — Hylian King [*] 04:22, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Youve had your say. now please get off my talk page.--Krystal (talk) 04:28, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Temporary Ban

Krystal, your behavior on Zelda Wiki is, and has been, wholly unacceptable. This is a family-friendly wiki; profanity is forbidden especially when maliciously directed towards others. We will not condone intimidation. We tolerated you being spiteful towards us when we sought to instruct you on policy, but you have abused our patience.

The staff has placed a one week ban on your account. You are welcome to return once the ban expires. However, please curb your behavior or we will be forced to follow up with a permanent ban. As of now, we will not be so tolerant.

If you are to edit here, you must be able to cooperate with others. This is a wiki: there will be disagreements, there will be criticism. We expect you to handle it civilly. If there is opposition to one of your ideas, make your case level-headedly instead of lashing out. — Hylian King [*] 02:31, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Caleb has hit the nail on the head. I'm a little disappointed in you, Krystal. You seem like you're a good person, but you cannot let your temper get the best of you. In fact, I'm the same way. Just ask the other staff members. But I chilled myself out in order to work toward the best interests of the community. I'd just like to ask that we please promote a spirit of cooperation and not bitterness and spite. I hope that you are interested in returning and making an effort to help the community once your block has expired.User:Justin ZW/sig 17:21, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Death of the Author

I understand that you support the philosophy of Death of the Author, in that the creator's opinion on a work, such as Legend of Zelda, is irrelevant and the only meaningful opinions come from the viewer. Understand that Death of the Author is not a licience to promote fan theories on this wiki. We wish to provide factual information on The Legend of Zelda, and Nintendo is the supreme source for all things Zelda related; if Nintendo says something about their games, it is canon, whether or not it contradicts a fan theory. Keep in mind that while we allow fan theories to be posted on our articles, they must be both supported by either the games themselves or developer quotes, and that they must be accepted by the community at large. Just because an theory is not impossible does not make it probably. Thank you for your consideration. Champion of Nayru (talk) 06:52, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Youre not the boss of me. Get the duck off my talk page. --Krystal (talk) 02:39, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Secondary Temp Ban

Krystal, your recent behavior is unacceptable and downright toxic for the community. Thus, the staff have decided that you need to take another period of time away from Zelda Wiki, so you've been banned for a month.
I implore you to utilize this time to understand that this is not how you can treat fellow users or other people. Nobody here is trying to antagonize you, we're just trying to show you how Zelda Wiki works. Zelda Wiki is where you are, so it's sensible to understand what norms we need to follow when you choose to act on here.
I understand that all of this is difficult for you and it seems like we're trying to prevent you from enjoying your time here, but please try to understand. We all have to work towards maintaining synergy, so please just try to be calm if you have any questions or comments when you come back. - TonyT S C 16:49, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
