Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 14:06, 24 December 2010 (EST)

(RE:) No worries, dude!! Everyone does multiple edits until they get used to using the show preview button. It's just a good reminder. :) Here's another reminder for the day! We like to keep conversations on one person's talk page, so the whole conversation can be read at once!! =D You can use the Recent Changes to see if anyone has responded to your comments. Hope you stick around, and happy editing!!! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 14:54, 24 December 2010 (EST)
Instead of looking through hundreds of edits in the Recent Changes, you can watch the page. This can be done by checking the "Watch this page" box (right beside the "This is a minor edit" box) when saving changes or by pressing the "Watch" tab at the top of the page. You can quickly view changes to pages you've watched by clicking the "my watchlist" link in the top right hand corner of the screen. — Abdullah [T] [C] [S]  16:30, 24 December 2010 (EST)

Signature

Hey, your signature is way too long. According to our sig rules it states that you can't have images or anything too distracting in your signature, and while yours doesn't contain any images or such, it is quite distracting as it's very large and takes up a lot to space.Mandi Talk 05:26, December 25, 2010 (UTC)

Just so there's no confusion, the Hylian language doesn't really count as images for our purposes, we use it as a font so it should be acceptable in signatures. But only if they use the really small ones through say, HylianTP. Not those huge ones there. Also, please look over the guide in Custom Signatures to see how to properly create and apply a custom signature. And, as mentioned, make sure to follow the rules. Actually, if you follow the steps in the Sig page (linked above), it'll show you how to create your signature on two seperate pages. So, you'll have one page with Purlo's Grandfather/sig, this is where you'll put all of your coding and such, and then the second page will be titled Purlo's Grandfather/sig2, in this page, you'll just type
{{:User:username/sig}}
. Also, it'd be a good idea if you could link your userpage into your signature, that's not very hard to do, and it's good for keeping things organized.Mandi Talk 01:14, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

I noticed you're still struggling with signatures. That's alright, they didn't sit right with me in the beginning either. Anyway, I made the necessary pages and just need you to do one thing for me. Go to your User Preferences and go down to the field that says "New signature". Copy and paste the following code into the field:

{{SUBST:User:Purlo's_Grandfather/sig2}}

Make sure the box that says "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" is checked. Scroll down to the end and press the save button. That's it!

To sign a comment, type "~~~~". If you want to edit your signature, edit this page. If you have any questions, reply at the bottom of this page ^_^ — Abdullah [T] [C] [S]  14:47, 27 January 2011 (EST)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that quotes in user sigs are against our Signature rules.Mandi Talk 22:14, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

Reminder

Hey there,

I'd just like to remind you that you should avoid making multiple edits to a single page over a short time span, like you recently did for this page, for reasons already mentioned here. Even though it's your own personal page, it still clogs the Recent Changes and makes more work for the staff. We acknowledge that it's not always possible to get things done in one shot, but please try to minimize this as much as you can.

Thanks!— Hylian King [*] 19:10, 2 October 2011 (EDT)
