The Deepwood Shrine is the first dungeon within The Minish Cap. It is located behind the lost city of the Minish deep within the Minish Woods. The Deepwood Shrine is a bog-like dungeon with several cobwebs, mushrooms, and even a giant barrel located at the center of the dungeon. It is infested with Sluggulas, Pestos and Puffstools.

Link's reward for defeating the dungeon's mini-boss, Madderpillar, is the newest helpful item, the Gust Jar. The boss is a Chuchu that finds its way into the Shrine. Although it's a perfectly ordinary Chuchu, it appears gigantic and terrifying to Minish Link. The Earth Element is Link's reward for defeating the Chuchu.
