Mountain Village

Mountain Village, after the defeat of Goht

Mountain Village is home to the Snowhead Blacksmiths, who are able to upgrade Link's sword. A Goron is stranded on a cliff-face in this area, and Link is able to rescue him by revitalizing the Goron's strength with a Rock Sirloin from Goron Shrine, receiving Don Gero's Mask in return.

Spectacle Rock

Spectacle Rock, also known as The Twin Islands, lies in the center of Snowhead. During the Winter, they are surrounded by a frozen lake and connected to the shore by a series of bridges which are guarded by a pair of White Wolfos. The Goron Elder can be found on the surface of the lake, frozen and covered by a buildup of snow. Once Snowhead Temple is cleared and Spring has returned to the mountains, Link is able to access a Piece of Heart on the bottom of the thawed lake by transforming into a Zora. On a cliff overlooking the Twin Islands, the Goron Races are held.

Accessible via a series of rope bridges across the Twin Islands is the residence of the Gorons. Since the weather has been so cold, many of the Gorons have retreated into the Goron Shrine in the center of the village. The Lens of Truth is found in Goron Village, and it can be used to meet the ghost of DarmaniIII.

Pieces of Heart

  • After Goht is defeated and spring has returned to Snowhead, the Twin Islands lake will thaw. Sink to the bottom as Zora Link to find a Piece of Heart within a treasure chest.
  • If you have Don Gero's Mask, defeat Goht to return spring to Snowhead and gather the five frogs in Mountain Village by speaking to them while wearing the mask. One is already there; another is located in the Laundry Pool; one is on a log in Southern Swamp; one will appear after beating the Gekko mini-boss in Woodfall Temple; one will appear after defeating the Gekko mini-boss in Great Bay Temple. Once gathered, they will sing and present you with a Piece of Heart.
  • On the path that leads to Snowhead Mountain are some platforms. You will need the Lens of Truth and the Scarecrow's Song to cross them, leading you to a Piece of Heart within a treasure chest.
  • After giving the Swamp Land Title Deed to the Business Scrub in Goron Village, use the Deku Flower to reach a Piece of Heart.

Secrets

  • Speak to the Business Scrub in Goron Village to upgrade your Bomb Bag. This will cost you 200 Rupees.
  • Enter the Goron Races once clearing Snowhead Temple and win to receive a bottle filled with Gold Dust. You can sell the Gold Dust at the Mountain Village Blacksmith for 40[1] Rupees, or at the Curiosity Shop for 200. The Gold Powder can also be used to upgrade your Razor Sword to the Gilded Sword at the blacksmith.
  • Once spring has returned to Snowhead, there is a shortcut through the mountain connecting Mountain Village and Goron Village. Although full of Boes, they are easily defeated.
