Telma's Bar is a small, out-of-the-way hangout located down one of the alleyways of the Hyrule Castle Town South Road, reputed to be popular amongst soldiers and travelling swordsmen alike. Telma's Bar is owned by Telma, a brave and kind-hearted woman who becomes fast friends with Link after he helps to protect her and Ilia in their aid of the Zora Prince. Whilst she spends a short time in Kakariko, she soon returns to her position as proprietress of the bar, welcoming Link when he next comes in and inviting him to 'relax a bit'.

Telma's Bar is most notable for the small group of people that Telma allows to meet at the back of her bar- "The Group" - who strive to oppose the darkess threatening the land and who help Link on his quest to retrieve the remaining Mirror Shards from around Hyrule as far as possible. Although it is not absolutely necessary to return to the bar throughout the course of Link's journey, speaking to the remainder of the group about where the missing member is (or pinpointing their location on the map) would be useful if it is unknown to the player as to where they are. All the same, the only occasion Link has to return there is to obtain the Invoice from Telma as a means of coercing the doctor to reveal more information about the Wooden Statue.

It is also notable for being linked to a hidden passage which leads to Hyrule Castle- perhaps one reason, convenience and comfort aside, why the aforementioned group meets there in particular.

The first time Link ventures into Telma's Bar, Ilia is there- having been found and brought to the doctor's house, it would seem that she went with the ailing Zora Prince, Prince Ralis, to Telma's Bar in order to care for him. She later departs along with Telma and Link to Kakariko, in the hopes that he will thrive better there.

Telma's cat is also a main benefactor throughout the story, and must be befriended to make progress in the game. She will direct Wolf Link to the hidden passage leading to Hyrule Castle at one point in the game, and will later help Wolf Link find the Wooden Statue to restore Ilia's memory.
