Template:Item The Small Shield is the basic Shield used by Link throughout most of The Minish Cap.
Location and Uses
The Small Shield is given to him by Princess Zelda in Hyrule Town at the Picori Festival. Shortly after receiving it, Link must use his newly-acquired Shield to protect Zelda from a dangerous Business Scrub north of Hyrule Town.
Like most basic Shields obtained throughout the Zelda series, the Small Shield can be swallowed by a Like Like. If this happens, Link can defeat the Like Like to retrieve the Small Shield, or buy a new one at the Hyrule Town Shop. The Small Shield can defend Link from the most basic of attacks, such as an Octorok's rocks and sword strikes from other enemies. After Link completes the main quest, Link can turn the Small Shield into the Mirror Shield by allowing Biggoron to nibble on it.
Trivia
- The Small Shield has the same design as the Hero's Shield from The Wind Waker.
