Characteristics
In Breath of the Wild there are two varieties of Foxes: a Grassland Fox that can be found in plains, such as the one north of the Great Plateau, and a Snowcoat Fox that is found in snowy tundras, such as the Tabantha Tundra. Foxes can be hunted using Weapons, and drop Raw Meat when killed.
In Links Awakening (Switch) there is a fox in Mabe Village that will jump at link causing damage if attacked.
Non-Canon Appearances
Oracle of Ages (Himekawa)
In the Oracle of Ages manga by Akira Himekawa, the animals of the forest at first order Impa and Link to go back and refuse to let them enter the wood.[1] However, a Fox notices Link's pointed ears and that he is a Hylian of the old blood,[2] convincing the animals to let them pass.
