Aba is a young girl that appeared in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. She's the only recognizable Hylian in the game and an excellent fighter. She is good friends with the other children in Port Town: Missy, Chiko, Dave, "Big Bro" and Paul.

Tingle met Aba very early in his quest on Hometown Prairie. She offered him to teach him the basics of fighting (for free, something quite uncommon in that game). He met her again later on Sunshine Seashore, where she taught him more advanced battling, and Lon Lon Meadow, where she informed him about the whereabouts of Missy.

Tingle met her again on Deku Forest, where it was revealed that she was the daughter of Junglo, the old forest hero. After saving the Deku Tree Sprout, Junglo told Tingle that Aba wasn't actually his daughter, but that he found her as a baby in the arms of her dead mother. Because he didn't know what else to do (the only thing that gave a hint about her family was a dagger Aba's mother had taken with her), he raised her as his own. Aba overheard this conversation, however, and became furious at Junglo for lying about her past and ran away.

Fortunately, she had thrown away the dagger in her anger first and Tingle found it just outside of Junglo's house. He brought it to the only person who knew anything about weapons, the Armourer. When he saw the dagger however, he immediately insisted that Tingle would tell him where he got that dagger from and, after hearing the answer, ran off to Deku Forest.

The Armourer and Aba met near the Cherry Tree Family and he revealed that he was in fact, her father. Years ago, his wife was fed up with his obsession with weapons and fighting. Taking Aba with her, she left him and went to the Deku Forest. Aba began to argue with him and the two quickly began to fight. However, they were evenly matched, and each was impressed at the other's strength. They decided to return to Port Town together. As they left, Junglo came to say goodbye to Aba, to which she replied with "Bye, Forest Dad!".

Aba and Link

It is not unlikely that Vanpool designed Aba to be a reference to Link, whether as an own interpretation or a possible relative. The reasons for this theory are:

  1. The game is set completely in the The Legend of Zelda universe.
  2. Aba is the only recognizable Hylian in the entire game.
  3. She has similar brownish blond hair and blue eyes as Link in Twilight Princess and her most prominent piece of clothing is a green cape.
  4. She is an excellent fighter.
  5. Her backstory is quite similar to Link's backstory in Ocarina of Time. Aba's mother entered the Deku Forest with her baby when she was trying to get away from the fighting. She died and left her child in the care of a/the protector of the forest.
  6. Her little jingle is similar to the main theme song of The Legend of Zelda.
