The Boe is a globular, ghostly ball that appears in Majora's Mask, and takes two forms: the Black Boe thrives in the darkness and beneath shadow, while the White Boe flourishes in high intensity light and under snow-like conditions. Both foes are not very threatening when isolated, and can be dispelled easily with a single sword swipe. However, these floating fiends tend to cluster in groups, and in such situations, Link may have to switch fighitng tactics if he is to stay alive.

Types and Location

Black Boe

Black Boes are small enemies that hide in the darkness. They are found in areas of Majora's Mask. To defeat them, Link may easily slash them with his sword. However, they always appear in large numbers, since that is the only way they can pose an actual threat. They can occasionally blend in with their backgrounds, as long as the backgrounds are dark. They can be occasionally found in pots.

The White Boe is the snow-dwelling counterpart of the destructive Black Boe. Like their black incarnations, they swarm in packs, taking down larger opponents such as Link. Unlike the Black Boe, Whites Boes favor the bright, light snow, rather than the darkness. But just as their brothers, they can be easily killed with a single sword swipe, and only pose a threat in large groups. A White Boe can commonly be found in pine trees and in the Snowhead Temple. They replace Blue Tektites as the common Snowhead enemy at night. They can often blend in with surroundings, making it hard to spot them.

Before they reach the ground, White Boes resemble large snowflakes, appearing like a soft flurry.
