Magic Jars (Also known as Magic Containers) are a reoccuring item that have appeared since The Adventure of Link. They are used to replenish Magic Power, which is used to power magic items, magic attacks and magic powers. They are most commonly found by breaking jars, cutting grass or killing enemies. The jars come in various shapes and sizes depending on the game.

In Game Appearances

In Adventure of Link

Magic Jars in The Adventure of Link come in two colors. The most common jar, blue magic jars, are often dropped by defeated enemies and recover a small portion of magic power. Red magic jars are much harder to find and are usually hidden in certain areas of Hyrule's overworld. The red magic jars not only recover all of Link's magic power, but also increases the maximum magic power he can have. The red magic jars, like Heart Containers, will disappear from their location once obtained and cannot be reobtained.

In A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask

They can be large and small.

In The Wind Waker

The Wind Waker continues the two-bottle tradition, but with slight changes. The large decanter still refills a sizeable portion of the Magic Meter, but does not completely refill it. Both of the magic bottles change from their characteristic green color to tan bottles with brown designs.
