Appearances
Ocarina of Time
While not a useable item, a Phonograph can be seen in Ocarina of Time being playing by Guru-Guru who resides in the Windmill in Kakariko Village. Guru-Guru later uses his Phonograph to teach an adult Link the Song of Storms.
Majora's Mask
A very similar Phonograph reappears along with Guru-Guru in Majora's Mask as the source of music used during the Gorman Troupe's show.
Oracle of Seasons
The Phonograph is the tenth and final item in the Oracle of Seasons trading sequence. It is given to Link by Guru-Guru in exchange for helping the Windmill spin faster with the Engine Grease.[1] When played for the Deku Scrub in the Lost Woods, he will give Link instructions on how to navigate the Lost Woods and find the Noble Sword.[2]
The Minish Cap
There is also a Phonograph in The Minish Cap inside Baris' house in Hyrule Town. Unlike the Phonograph in Oracle of Seasons, it is not an item Link can carry around. This Phonograph can be used for a Sound Test after Link collects 130 figurines.
