There are also other less common potions

  • Elixir Soup - this potion only appears in The Wind Waker and restores both health and magic as well as giving Link twice the attack power until he is next wounded. Each bottle also contains two helpings.
  • Gold Potion - (BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban only) replenishes life and magic, as well as temporarily allowing Link to charge Spin Attacks twice as quickly and being twice as strong with sword attacks until the first hit.

In Legend of Zelda, Potions are bought from medicine shops. After Link finds the Letter, he can purchase Life Potions and 2nd Potions from the shops.

In Phatnom Hourglass potions there are only 3 potions that are the only items that can be used to restore health in the game:

  • Red Potion: Restores 6 hearts.
  • Purple Potion: Restores 8 hearts and is activated automatically if Link loses all his hearts. It replaces the fairies from other games.
  • Yellow Potion: Restores all hearts.
