Long title...

Wouldn't just "Governance" do? I don't see this category getting a huge amount of use, but I think that would cover everything. User:Fizzle8094/sig 09:41, 22 August 2012 (EDT)

I was afraid of the opposite :P --Norrvegr (talk | contribs) 10:52, 22 August 2012 (EDT)
I'm gonna have to agree with Fizzle. I don't see any need in keeping the "Bureaucracy" bit. - TonyT S C 16:57, 22 August 2012 (EDT)
Ok then :D I'll move it --Norrvegr (talk | contribs) 08:22, 23 August 2012 (EDT)

Usage

Sorry to bring this up after you've done all the legwork, Norsk, but it doesn't make much sense to me for pages such as Baito or Dampé to be under a "Governance" category. Yes, Baito works for the Island Postal Service, which is an institution, and I suppose a group of institutions constitute a government. However, the link Baito --> Postal Service makes sense, while the link Baito --> Governance does not.

That's not to say this category was a bad idea (on the contrary, it is a good one!) However, by adding two categories to a page when one of them is a subcategory of the other, we're really including it in the same category twice. This is something we do for our main categories such as People and Dungeons and so on, but I don't think it's appropriate in this case. I think this category should only contain subcategories and not actual pages. The actual pages should only be categorized by their respective subcategories. For example, including Baito in only Postal Service instead of both that and Governance.

Also, we could create a subcategory of Governance called "Institutions", which would in turn regroup the "Education" and "Postal Service" categories and so on. Maybe that's what you were getting at with "Bureaucracy", Norsk?

PS: Postal Service should have a capital "S". — Hylian King [*] 11:48, 24 August 2012 (EDT)

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant --Norrvegr (talk | contribs) 13:46, 24 August 2012 (EDT)
Yet, what eventual sub-category should I add Chancellor Cole to? --Norrvegr (talk | contribs) 13:53, 24 August 2012 (EDT)
I was thinking Cole and all the other non-royalty (democratic) leaders could be stuck with the mayors. Their roles are all practically identical. — Hylian King [*] 16:53, 24 August 2012 (EDT)
If people find "mayor" too misleading, we could consider changing the name to something more vague like "leader." Myself or one of the other admins could do it very easily with an automated text replace. That way we could include Darbus, Gor Coron, and the Goron Elder, too. — Hylian King [*] 21:34, 24 August 2012 (EDT)
