The Milk Bar Musicians are a group in A Link Between Worlds.[1]

Biography

The Milk Bar Musicians are a musical duo consisting of the Bard and Flute Boy, who reside in the Milk Bar of Kakariko Village. For a fee of 10 Rupees, they perform lute-and-flute renditions of music from The Legend of Zelda series—primarily from A Link Between Worlds—to ease the moods of the Milk Bar patrons[2]

When the Milk Bar Musicians perform, the lights in the Milk Bar dim and a spotlight shines on them. Their song is chosen randomly, but recently-played songs are less likely to be chosen again. Link can speak to the Bard at any time during the song to request a new one;[3] the Bard will continue to play his lute while chatting, but the Flute Boy, being very shy, will cease to play.[4][5]

List of Songs

The Milk Bar Musicians can perform a total of 14 full songs, and two short fanfares that are selected less frequently. From the onset of Link's adventure, the Musicians can play the following songs:[6]

  • "Hyrule Theme"
  • "Selection Screen" (Fairy Fountain theme)
  • "Zelda's Theme"
  • "Kakariko Village"
  • "Item Fanfare"

Once Link has reached Lorule, the Milk Bar Musicians add the following songs to their repertoire:

  • "Ravio's Theme"
  • "Hyrule Castle"
  • "Facing Yuga in Hyrule Castle"
  • "Hilda's Theme"
  • "Lorule Theme"
  • "Lorule Dungeon Theme"
  • "Mini Item Fanfare"

Once Link has explored the eastern half of Death Mountain in Lorule:

  • "Death Mountain"

When playing on Hero Mode, the Milk Bar Musicians can play all of the above songs starting at the beginning of the game, as well as the following three:

Trivia

  • On rare occasions, halfway through performing "Death Mountain", the Flute Boy will begin to play wildly, missing many notes and squealing heavily.[7]
