Nintendo Power (November/December 1988) is a magazine published by Nintendo.

Powerful Gift Ideas (p. 38)

The section features multiple merchandise as suggestions of gifts for the holidays.

NES Advantage & NES Max (p. 56-57)

The section is an advertisement for the NES Advantage and NES Max controllers. It lists games where the different features of the controllers are the most useful. The Legend of Zelda is listed as number three under the "Turbo Function" of both controllers.

Pak Watch (p. 81)

The article mentions that The Adventure of Link is going to be released in December of 1988, but in "very limited quantities".

Captain Nintendo (p. 82-84)

This article features the Part I of the Captain Nintendo's adventures. Near the end of it, Princess Zelda and Ganon are mentioned. The teaser for the Part II mentions the arrival of Link and some Darknuts.

Giant Giveaway (p. 85-91)

This section features a giveaway of NES games and accessories for people participating in the next "Player's Poll".

Among the prizes, there are 10 sets containing the following:

  • A copy of Super Mario Bros. 2
  • A NES Advantage
  • A copy of The Adventure of Link

Dr. Power's Ten Telling Questions (p. 93)

This section features ten questions with answers to choose from. The calculated score determines whether the reader is a "Power Player", "Video Rookie" or "Couch Crusader".

Among the questions, some featured Zelda-related answers:

Player's Forum (p. 94)

The article mentions that Jay Leno called Nintendo Power to get help on how to beat Level 7 of The Legend of Zelda. It also specifies that Jay Leno did end up beating both the First Quest and the Second Quest.

TOP 30 (p. 102-104)

The section features the 30 most popular Nintendo Entertainment System games according to polls held by Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda is in first position with 8476 points. The Adventure of Link is in eighth position with 4204 points.[note 1]

The points for The Legend of Zelda go as follow:

  • Dealer's Picks: 2607 points (Third position)

The points for The Adventure of Link go as follow:
