Talk:Gerudo Desert

The desert area in Twilight Princess is not called the Gerudo Desert... its the "Desert Province". High likelihood they are one and the same, and I imagine it would be, but besides both being deserts on the edge of Hyrule and some subtle suggestions in the Arbiter's Grounds, there is no clear canonical evidence that the Desert Province can be considered the same thing, just an implied possibility. I would personally suggest the Desert Province gets its own article, but both articles can have mention that they could be the same desert under a speculation tab.--Goomboy 14:59, 27 December 2011 (EST)

As you can see here and in some of the TP references in the article, it is known as the "Gerudo Desert" in Twilight Princess as well.
In case you were unaware, Zelda Legends has text dumps (game text extracted to a separate file) of every Zelda game. Text dumps can be really useful for doing research and adding references. For example, by looking up "Gerudo Desert" using Ctrl + F in the Twilight Princess text dump would allow you to determine whether or not the term is used in-game. — Hylian King [*] 15:14, 27 December 2011 (EST)
Ah sorry about that, looks like I was wrong. I'll check out those text dumps first for now on.--Goomboy 19:24, 27 December 2011 (EST)

Ocarina of Time

Why was the Ocarina of Time facts removed from the site? If nobody can answare me why, i'll return it back to the normal again. --Niklas 14:31, 26 January 2012 (EST)

Because there's no such thing as the Gerudo Desert in OoT.KrytenKoro 14:52, 26 January 2012 (EST)
This discussion took place partly on the Hyrule discussion page, during the debate over the legitimacy of naming geography between games. Kryten is right, there is no officially named "Gerudo Desert" in Ocarina of Time, the Gerudo region exists of only the Gerudo Fortress, Haunted Wasteland, Gerudo Training Ground, and the Desert Colossus. Using the name Gerudo Desert is Ocarina of Time is thus extrapolation! — ciprianotalk 11:09, 27 January 2012 (EST)
