Kenzou

Should we rename this page to "Kenzou"? If a character is unnamed in English, wouldn't it make sense to just give them the Japanese name? This has been done with other characters on this wiki, too. --Kaialone02 (talk) 11:42, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, the page shouldn't be moved to "Kenzou" as the Bridge Worker isn't unnamed. His current name, Bridge Worker, is unsourced but it comes from the PRIMA Official Game Guide for Spirit Tracks. That being said, this page does need to be moved as he was recently given the name Kenzo in Encyclopedia and this supersedes all guides. Link Lab (Talk) 12:54, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
To clarify some details, we use titles like "Bridge Worker" as names if there is nothing else to use in the English canon. If there's nothing whatsoever (no names, no titles, nothing) in the English canon, we would fall back on the British English canon. If nothing in that, Japanese canon. Usually if we've borrowed a name from the Japanese canon, it's because we've been forced to via that method.
Also with the way that we romanize JP names and words (or the way we should, at least), it would have been Kenzō instead. I fixed how we romanize ケンゾウ on the page but I know there are still a few stragglers left from the old system. TriforceTony (talk) 14:42, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alright, I wasn't sure on the spelling, because I have been working on sites were the usage of ō and the like was forbidden and it had to be spelled ou. I do understand your reasoning with this, thanks for your quick reply. --Kaialone02 (talk) 16:33, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
