Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. Phoeni

"Phoeni" doesn't show up in the text dumps and I don't recall ever seeing that name when called on Fi. In fact, this is what Fi says:

Superseding images

Hey there!

Just dropping in to tell you that when you upload new images that replace old ones, you should be marking the old ones for deletion using the Imdel template. Just go to the page of the file that is outdated and insert this:

{{Imdel|sup|name of the file here}}

Doing so adds the image to this category, which an admin will occasionally sweep through. I figured you should know this since uploading awesome images seems to be your specialty. Also, if you do it, myself or someone else doesn't have to do it for you. ;)

Hello, I still see your doing an outstanding job at helping the Wiki get all the images in high-quality for SS. We still need images for the following:

Lanayru Caves Pirate Stronghold

Also I would want to see if you can help this Wiki get more images of OOT 3D this is due to many of places, enemies, and characters recieving quite drastic changes in their look such as the Dodongo, and I think it would be great if we showcase these images. Also, one little thing: make sure to upload with lowercase file extensions (.png instead of .PNG) as its part of our policy. If the file you're uploading has an uppercase file extension you can change it to lowercase in the "destination filename" field of the upload form.

The artwork is indeed awesome, so thanks for uploading it! However, could you upload the artwork separately from the renders? The file I uploaded here is how the Treasure Chart looks in-game, so the artwork would have to be uploaded as a separate file. I went ahead and did that for the fire and ice arrows, too (although clearing the cache didn't work so it still shows the artwork for me :P). I'll go ahead and try to re-upload the artworks you overwrote the renders with as a separate file (for example, all of the Decorations) to make the distinction clear between what is artwork and what is a render. Just a little update

So I investigated the 503 errors and discovered that the root of the problem was the image on the reorg template. I don't understand why it suddenly began causing problems, but perhaps due to the recent update, the image converter could no longer handle animated gifs properly. I've been forced to delete the image because it was really causing massive server disruptions and preventing people from viewing the site. The persistent problems should be over now, but if you find it happening again, please notify me immediately. If you can't get onto ZW to send me a talk page message, my email address is jfolvarcik[at]gmail[dot]com. Thanks again for bringing that to my attention. If you do want to reupload it, I'd suggest you:

• Choose a different filename
• Tell me the filename you're choosing ahead of time in case the problem repeats itself

File Loss

Hey,

In case you haven't seen the announcement, we had to restore to a backup today. It only covered up until September 11th, though. I'm sorry to say all your uploads since then are gone. :(

Awesome! By the way, I just saw your post on Justin's talk page. Justin has had to be away from the wiki recently, so allow me to fill in.

There's about 500 files left that don't have FileInfo yet, out of the ~16,650 on the wiki. These 500 files include: Files that use the Fan art template, Category:Website images (files that use Template:Website), and obviously what's left of the Copyrighted images. "Website" is not an option for FileInfo, so it has to be replaced with one of these, depending on what website the screenshot is from. If you're not sure just leave the licensing blank, no worries.

After that there's another 100+ miscellaneous images which I put into a list in my sandbox. The list is a bit faulty but it should do the trick.

Empty Sections

When leaving empty or incomplete sections, please place {{Stub}} at the beginning of the section. This notifies other editors that work needs to be done on the page. Instead of leaving an empty gallery section, you can place {{Images}} at the top of the page. Template:Update is another useful notification template around this time. There's also Template:Stub for articles that are generally very short and incomplete.

Also, Zelda Wiki maintains an in-universe writing style, so please avoid referring to players directly if you can help it. That is, say "Link" instead of "you" or "the player."

There's no policy for that. I would say it depends. Sometimes it's good to have the images both grouped and separate, sometimes there's no point. This is a good example of images that are useful as a group, but also need to be separate. Hyrule Warriors Images

Hey, I really would like to thank you for uploading so many images from HW. I wold just like to as one thing of you. Currently, your naming the images them like this (File:AncientSpinnerIconHW.png), but the naming scheme we're using for these types of images is (File:HW Ancient Spinner Icon.png). Thanks, I appreciate it! I honestly probably spend way more time on getting certain images than I should. One of the best things you can do for Hyrule Warriors is to set up your TV options in the Wii U settings to the highest quality you can and then post a live screenshot from in-game to an image uploading site directly to avoid the Miiverse scaling and image deterioration. - Bwar (talk) 21:25, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't believe an HDTV is required since I don't even use my TV to play the Wii U and I can still apply the settings. Try setting it to the highest quality setting for both HDMI and cord input and see which one works. As for the uploading directly through the internet browser after pressing the home button, I would suggest Imageshack as it has a less busy interface on the Wii U browser than some other image uploading sites. You should also always remember to use the top screen rather than the bottom as it is the one that gives the high quality screenshots - Bwar (talk) 19:15, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

We currently try to meet up Friday evenings, but I wouldn't worry to much about set times. It's well understood that everyone has lives outside of the Wiki, and being present isn't always possible. When needed, messages are relayed and notes taken, so people can be caught up to speed if feeling left behind. :3
