Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones, okay?User:Justin ZW/sig 23:24, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey Justin! I definately haven't forgotten about it, I'd like to once I'm on my own desktop again. I'm still away from my own box (I've been across the country for 6 months! O_O I wasn't expecting this trip to last this long lol), and when I tried downloading Skype to this laptop it didn't work. Patroller

On behalf of the Zelda Wiki.org staff, we came to a discussion to promote you to a Patroller. If you are comfortable with that, we will rank you up whenever you reply. — Steve 20:35, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Ehm, since Steve didn't explain, patrol is when you review the edits of others and mark them as "patrolled." You then make changes (if necessary.) It's basically our way of making sure that every edit is of high quality. It's a bit tough, but we all thought you'd be perfect for it :) You can read more about it in the help guide here.User:Justin ZW/sig 21:22, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Good to hear! I'll let you in on a tip: Create the page User:Embyr 75/monobook.js with the following:

importScript('mediawiki:admin.js');

It'll add a patrol tab while patrolling edits. You can hit alt+shift+1 (in Firefox) or alt+1 (in Chrome) to patrol the edit you're looking at. After that, you can do it again to go back to the unpatrolled Recent Changes. It's a REAL helpful feature! Glad to have you working with us, Embyr!User:Justin ZW/sig 04:22, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Great job

Just wanted to say great job with all the patrolling! Usually, I'm the only one who actually does any of it, because the rest of these lazy bums just let the backlog grow and grow, then I get stuck patrolling hundreds of edits. NOT FUN. Anyways, I'm glad you're doing this, and I know that patrolling can be a thankless job, so I wanted to let you know that everyone appreciates it, especially me :P I'm actually going to be leaving on Monday and will be gone for 12 days, so I want you to keep the backlog in shape while I'm gone, eh? Thought I'd mention it...

So, I just wanted to say that you've been doing an awesome job with the patrolling, keep up the good work! Another thing, I think someone may have asked you this before, but, do you have Skype? Skype is just basically an IM program like MSN, Yahoo, ect. The Zelda Wiki staff/members use it to communicate, point out problems, just chat, ect. We have a text chat formed specifically for ZW contributors and patrollers/staff. It'd be great if you could download it!:)Mandi ^Talk 01:44, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

Medallion Links

Hi, how are you? Recently, I began to add information about the thematic elements of the dungeons by adding a new field to the Dungeon template; however, I would like instead to put the images of the Sage Medallions associated with those elements (forest, fire, water, etc.) and make them link to the disambiguation pages regarding the dungeon (for example, if I put the Forest Medallion, it would link to the Forest Dungeon page); do you know how can I do this, please? I'm having a few problems with the Image template, it says I must specify the image, and yet I do! Might have to do with the fact that I'm trying to add a template (ImgL) into another (Dungeon); I'll try this later, because my Internet is getting horribly messy at this moment.
