Future Tense

Yes, it's correct that the articles should be in present tense. But don't be too hasty. A lot of what you've been changing because you thought it was future tense, wasn't actually future tense. For example, the sentence He will start to lose his balance and then get knocked off the pillar by his own boomerang when it comes back. This "will" here is the third-person singular simple present will. Meaning it is in present tense. So were many others you changed. Emma (Talk) 20:44, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I see. The problem is that, in some articles, the verbs are used in any time tense. For example, in the Wizzrobe and Darknut articles, as well as numeros articles about the Zelda II bosses, all verbs were in past tense, hence why I was fixing them. But thanks for the advice. --K2L 21:00, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah. All that Past tense, then future tense, and then present, and then back to past kind of stuff all in one article bugs me too. It's good to clean it up.Emma (Talk) 21:03, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Thoughts!

I read your thoughts section, and I think it's a good start for those who don't know where to begin in writing and organizing articles! The reason why ZW doesn't have a manual of style, and may never have one, honestly, is because wiki editing, organization, and such is up to the user's discretion, especially at a small wiki like this one. Because we are community-based and the information is ever changing, a strict manual of style may restrict a better way of organizing and writing pages - chances are these pages as we see them will not look anything like they do now in the future, in order to provide the best possible organization and content as new information comes along. But I think you're on the right track, at our size and scope! ;) — ciprianotalk 02:22, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for the advice, good to see that someone took the proposal in consideration. My intention with the proposal is not necessarily to restrict the editing freedom, but to provide a model that can assist users, a guide of sorts (and it doesn't have to be as severe as the Wikipedia MOS). I mean, when I came to the wiki for the first time, certain pages had sections that could also be useful for other articles. For example, only Majora's Mask had a Reception section, only The Adventure of Link had a Legacy section (and it was known in those times as "Pros"), only The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (well, perhaps Ocarina of Time too) had Timeline Placement sections, etc. Then I thought: "Hmmm . . . and what if each game article had each section like these?" And you already know what happened later =P. But it's OK if there isn't an official MOS; as I said, I simply want to make the articles less convoluted. Same goes for dungeon articles, boss articles, etc. Perhaps the best tool for an editor is to use common sense.
P.S.: What do you think about the new scheme of my userpage? Just a question =). --K2L 02:49, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yea, I totally get where you're coming from here. I think there definitely should be a thin MOS, one that talks about how to organize the bottom of articles at least (Gallery, See Also, External Links, Templates, yada yada) because that's the part of pages with the least flexibility - and you touched on that a bit in your MOS section. On an unrelated note, you're definitely making yourself a role model for other editors in terms of article harmonization and consistency! I'm lovin it!
And I think the alternating colors is very cool on the page - it makes it look cool without being too crazy and chaotic like some userpages on the wiki! :P — ciprianotalk 04:59, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

¿Hey K2L, cuál está para arriba? SkullKid001 21:38, 13 November 2010 (EST)

???

What do sans and tsundere mean? Supermariosuperfan 04:00, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

War and terrorism. And because Tetra is a pirate,..... Actually, I'm kidding. The term "tsundere" is a Japanese portmanteau of two other terms; tsun and dere. Respectively, they mean harsh and gently. Tetra is initially harsh towards link, and so is Midna in twilight Princess. However, the attitude changes for the better as time passes, as these characters become more fond of Link. It's a somewhat obscure word, so don't worry if you were unaware of it. Type the word on Google if you want to learn more about it. --K2L 04:06, 16 July 2010 (UTC) (P.S.: Forgot one thing: "Sans" is an abbreviated variant of "save". That is, except)Reply[reply]

New Boomerang page

Yeah! I like more your experimental version of the Boomerang page. Jeangabin 00:12, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Dude, and I was shocked when I saw the You got new messages template after logging in, because I was doing other stuff and forgot almost everything about the sandbox I made (well, that and the fact that I still didn't spread the word about this on the users' talk pages to invite them to watch the sandbox =P). I'll see now if the other editors (like Cipriano and Dany) agree with the new format proposal. I don't want to risk to do anything wrong this time. --K2L 03:05, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I commented back on my userpage. Oops... we can continue the convo here or there if you want, no matter to me. :) TL;DR version: I love the reorganization, picture placement needs to be more professional. And make sure to include all pictures from the previous edit, even if they're just in the gallery. — ciprianotalk 21:43, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
OK! --K2L 21:54, 2 September 2010 (EDT)

OK, it's ready at last. After about 26 previews, page revision comparisons and the like, the sandbox page seems to be complete. I left two images per section, plus one in Uses. The gallery remains with 16 images, and I made my best to not miss any. When you have time, Cip, check it and then tell me if there's something else to be done before editing the real page. --K2L 23:15, 2 September 2010 (EDT)

I think it looks awesome! One last thing, you don't have to put the transparent boomerangs into thumb boxes if you don't want to. Sometimes they look better just by themselves. But other than that, and that's just nitpicking, I think it's ready. :) — ciprianotalk 00:52, 3 September 2010 (EDT)
Thanks for the advice! I added the thumb boxes to identify in which game each Boomerang shown appears, as I wanted to assure that none of the images was repeated (from those of the Gallery). Well, now I'm going to launch the edit to the real page. If there is any other improvement that can be done, everybody can feel free to participate =). --K2L 19:21, 3 September 2010 (EDT)

Autopatrol!

K2L, it's been awhile, but you are more than deserving of the Autopatrol rank here at Zelda Wiki.org. Your work continues to astound, and you are quite the innovator with your implemented "Manual of Style" for Dungeon articles and improved organization of the Game articles. Keep up the great work; it's not going unnoticed! Congrats! — ciprianotalk 00:36, 16 January 2011 (EST)

Sorry for the late reply (I currently lack internet, hence my nearly-total absence nowadays, I'm currently posting this from elsewhere), but thanks for the news! =D. As long as my contributions continue to improve the project, I feel happy. --K2L (Interrogatory) 17:03, 17 January 2011 (EST)

Ice

Heya there, K2L, long time no see!

I see you've taken interest to the Ice page. It's looking good, but I should tell you that I've actually been working on that same page off-wiki for a while now (don't ask me why). I figured I should tell you before you go any further editing that page because we're going in two completely different directions with it. :P It's my bad, I should've mentioned it somewhere that I was already working on the page (I don't even know why I was working on it off-wiki). I guess I get too carried away with Skype and forget that I still have to communicate on the Wiki... Anyways, it's all in my Sandbox, if you want to take a look at what I had in mind. Perhaps we can figure out a collaboration from there... — Hylian King [*] 08:18, 22 March 2011 (EDT)

Upon carefully reading it, it's clear that my efforts outlived their usefulness very quickly :,( .... Good job, just keep polishing it and you'll have a great article, which doesn't need anything from what's on the current page, believe me.
By the way, can you ask an admin to publish the WikiExclusive I have in the Sandbox? It had not been published yet so that I could add the Spirit Tracks section and fix any possible typo.... I think it's ready at last =). --K2L (Interrogatory) 15:12, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
Well, thanks for the vote of confidence. It certainly does need some polishing, though... Anyways, sorry for making you work for nothing, I really should have indicated more clearly that I was already on it. Ah well, lesson learned.
As for your WikiExclusive, I don't know why you would need me to tell an admin, but I let them know on the on the Patroller Chat on Skype, so it's only a matter of time now before an admin sees it. Congratulations! How does it feel to be a WikiExclusivist? Pretty good, I bet... I'll be sure to sit down and read through the article when I have the time. I'm looking forward to it! — Hylian King [*] 08:01, 23 March 2011 (EDT)
It's not that I need you to ask an admin, the thing is that I've been too distracted by the ST articles (I'm still with the characters!). --K2L (Interrogatory) 08:13, 23 March 2011 (EDT)
