Zelda Wiki:Cross-Wiki Week
The Cross-Wiki Week is an event hosted by the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance intended to encourage cross-wiki collaboration to celebrate the birth of Nintendo. To commemorate the event, one random participant will receive a $20 Nintendo eShop gift card. To participate, tag your edits with #cww in the edit summary. You can sign up for the event here. If you forget to add the tag, you can add your edits using a submission form, which is currently in-progress.
The Cross-Wiki Week event is being held from 00:01 (UTC) on Friday, September 20 to 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, September 30. A full list of participatory rules can be found here.

Help us start strong! |
The latest game in The Legend of Zelda series, Echoes of Wisdom, drops on September 26, right in the middle of Cross-Wiki Week! This game is highly anticipated, as it is the first in the series where Zelda herself is the protagonist. In anticipation for the game, we have prepared project pages that outline which pages require help and offer guidance for what to add to them.
On our project pages, we automatically track what percentage of articles are complete so you can visualize how much progress is being made.
A lot needs to be done for this game, and you can help out by doing the following:
-
Create pages for new subjects
Check out our Boilerplates to make complete pages quickly! -
Update pages for returning concepts
-
Add the Checklist template to pages that need work
-
Share your findings with us!
Location articles are a great starting point because they often only need for information to be filled in. For instance, this information could be writing down what Enemies are found there and how many of them there are with the Gallery List template. You can also help us document where Treasure Chests are and what they contain with the Treasure Chests template. The Suthorn Forest article is a good example of how this is done.
Prior to September 26, please do not post any leaks related to Echoes of Wisdom.

Tears of the Kingdom released back in 2023, and due to the massive amount of content within the game, not everything has been documented yet. Check out Guidelines:Tears of the Kingdom for specific information about creating and editing for Tears of the Kingdom.
- Expand on already-existing pages and sections, such as those for quests or characters.
- For more information on our Tears of the Kingdom coverage, please refer to our Tears of the Kingdom project page.
Other Projects
- Update Twilight Princess pages with information from the Twilight Princess manga by Akira Himekawa.
- Upload Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) material and place them on relevant pages or sections, such as the section here.
Image Editing
There are a number of images that we would like to have transparency work done on. If you know your way around an image program, consider helping on some of our files.
Removing the Term Template
Zelda Wiki is trying to cutback on our usage of Template:Term and Template:Plural, which are templates we have used to create links and ensure intended names are displayed where needed. However, it can create issues loading pages where it is heavily used. You can help by removing uses of Term from pages!
By using the editor's built-in text replacement, you can add subst:
to the start of the Term and Plural templates, which will automatically switch out uses of these two templates on most of the page. The only exception is the Gallery, where removal of these templates will have to take place manually. Usage of Term in See Also sections is also exempt from removal.
Original code | Replacement code |
---|---|
{{Term| | {{subst:Term| |
{{Plural| | {{subst:Plural| |
It is very important to include the pipe in the template when replacing the code, because we are NOT removing uses of Template:Term/Store. Before publishing your changes, compare your preview with the current version of the page to ensure none of the actual content has changed.
Tech Ideas and Issues
If you are experienced with code such as Lua, we could use your help with resolving some cases.
- Our tech ideas page is where we've put forward a number of ideas that have yet to be developed.
- Our tech issues category is where we've documented issues and bugs in existing code, whether they're in modules or templates.
