Miracle Stone

In the Windwaker Soundtracks I found the Song "The Miracle Stone Shows one's True Nature" It isn't of much Importance, but What is the Miracle Stone? Is it the stone with which Tetra and the Lions King Communicaate? If so, why isn't there a page for it. I would do it myself, but I haven't got Windwaker(Only borrowed it to complete it 4 Times) The Butcher 12:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC) Thank you.

Cleanup time!

Hi guys! First of all, I hope you'll join me in giving a warm welcome to the Zelda Legends team! (have a look at this news post if you don't know what I'm talking about ;)

The reason I'm writing is that as a result, it's come to my attention that there's a little chore which needs to be taken care of, and I'd like to ask for volunteers. As you're all aware, images posted here are categorized using templates to show which site they were taken from. So basically, now that Zelda Legends is onboard, we need to change the templates on their images from this:

Warning.png
This image was found on [{{{1}}} {{{2}}}], a website not part of the Zelda Wiki Collaboration. If you desire to use this image on your own website, you should contact the webmaster of {{{2}}} for permission. However, although the image was found on {{{2}}}, the website may not be the copyright holder of the image. If the image depicts an object or symbol from The Legend of Zelda series, the copyright holder is most likely Nintendo.

to this:

Zwlogo2dsmall.png
This image was found on [{{{1}}} {{{2}}}], a website which forms part of the Zelda Wiki Collaboration. As such, by being made available here it is hereby released freely into the public domain. However, although the image was found on {{{2}}}, the website may not be the copyright holder of the image. If the image depicts an object or symbol from The Legend of Zelda series, the copyright holder is most likely Nintendo.

Making the change is as simple as editing the page and adding the letters "ZW" (like this). The catch is that there are quite a lot. Although there are less that 30 to be done for Zelda Legends, I noticed at the same time that there are still nearly 200 Zelda Dungeon images with the old template! In short, it's a lengthy task so if some kind person has some time to kill I'd be grateful for the help. Those who volunteer (assuming you're not a sysop or admin) will be given autopatrol rights (so I don't have to go through an patrol the changes myself!). It may also be a good idea to add {{c-nintendo}} to those images which it's missing from at the same time. Please reply here and I'll make the change to your account and generate the category of images to be worked on. Adam [ talk ] 09:00, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, no takers then? Maybe I put everyone off, reading it back I didn't exactly sell it! Well, it still needs doing if anyone's interested; and you don't have to commit to doing all 200 by yourself! Adam [ talk ] 06:22, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
You need to "advertise" in your edit summaries to this page. That will catch people's attention.Emma (Talk) 06:30, October 16, 2008 (UTC)
I did the Zelda Legends images already since there weren't that many, I just never mentioned it. Sorry about that. I could probably do the Zelda Dungeon work later during one of the site's less trafficky times for X-TRA SPEED considering how bloody long it takes. —Ando (talk) 14:50, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay then for you or whoever else feels like picking away at some more, here's the list of images remaining for Zelda Dungeon. Adam [ talk ] 17:23, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Cool. I'll get on to that later tonight (after I come back from a TOTALLY RAD MOVIE) is no one beats me to it. —Ando (talk) 18:48, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Jeez. Like the second I finish, Adam jumps in and finishes. Are you psychic too? Or were you just watching and waiting?Emma (Talk) 06:53, October 18, 2008 (UTC)
To do it, I highlighted every single image, then right-clicked and chose to open all in new tabs (I think that is added by Tabs Mix Plus). So that's like 146 or so tabs. Thank goodness for this fast PC! The new server really showed its power when accessed en mass. Took only four minutes to load all of them! I then ran through them, pausing every once and awhile to go ahead and go to edit mode in several following tabs. And a couple pee breaks.Emma (Talk) 07:03, October 18, 2008 (UTC)

Next cleanup job I know of is deleting the unused files. There are quite a few and most don't have any templates. You two will have to do it. I cannot delete files.... .... .... Yet. Emma (Talk) 07:21, October 18, 2008 (UTC)

Darunia image request

Any chance someone with greater (read: any) skill at transparentizing images could make File:Darunia.jpg transparent and then replace the image currently on the Darunia article with it? The one I've linked to is bigger and of better quality. —Ando (talk) 02:36, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Massive Button Holder Glitch

Every time i go on to Hyrule Castle, The Heart Container and Pieces of heart, the Yellow Links and their Continer Boxes become very large and obstruct my view of the article, can someone fix that?-Jedi 13:04, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

If you have Internet Explorer, it can't be fixed. Internet Explorer messes up everything. You'll have to get Mozilla Firefox.Emma (Talk) 13:38, October 21, 2008 (UTC)
I just checked. Internet Explorer really messes it up a lot. It is not a problem with the site. It is coding errors in Internet Explorer. To fix it, it'll have to be fixed over at Microsoft. Those guys have so much money, they just don't care about the quality of their products. Get Firefox.Emma (Talk) 13:50, October 21, 2008 (UTC)

I also have Internet Explorer and the same thing happens to me (but with every article on the wiki). But I doubt it is because of coding errors because it was fine until Zelda Legends was added to the masterminds box. So it must be too big and is messing Internet Explorer up. Maybe somthing less important could be removed from a diffrent box?--Link hero of light 14:49, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

I suggested that for another reason here. There are two things I suggested removing, and two that I suggested adding. So we could try removing those two things first and see if that has an effect. But I don't think that is it. It was more like when we upgraded the wiki software. Because I remember it was like this when I had to use the public PCs that didn't have Firefox. I think that was before Zelda Legends joined.Emma (Talk) 15:01, October 21, 2008 (UTC)

Solved; it was my fault! Turns out that it was all due to a single missed </span> tag within my signature! Matt's advice is still sound - I believe all the admins use Firefox, hence the wiki is essentially designed to be viewed in Firefox by default. There are other minor issues, such as the one with userbox containers. Basically, the site looks better in Firefox, so the advise is to use it if possible (and I can't see any strong reason why you wouldn't want to in most circumstances anyway). It'd be nice if some more people could adopt the use of Template:User Firefox on their user pages, so we could get a clearer picture... Adam [ talk ] 17:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Fine, Adam. I'll add the dang template. Gosh.
Nice that the problem was found! As Adam said, none of us really use IE, so we pretty much won't ever notice any problems. Isn't it an internet law that you must use Firefox, anyway? :/ —Ando (talk) 17:30, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
The fact that Firefox didn't have a problem with it just goes to show that Internet Explorer needs improvement. Microsoft doesn't really listen to people when they complain about product faults. So Firefox is the better choice. It is easy to get it. Firefox is free. The download is quick. There are some key features that certain add-ons add that you'll want. You'll find a list of some of those, with links, on my Firefox Hints page. There also is a link to the download site, and several other hints too.Emma (Talk) 17:34, October 21, 2008 (UTC)
P.S. It should be a law! ;)
Hey, Adam, what made you think to check your signature?Emma (Talk) 17:40, October 21, 2008 (UTC)
Troubleshooting is what I do for a living, basically. I reasoned that it must be some specific content of the affected pages, since it only happened on certain pages of the same type (talk). After testin g them, I realised it couldn't be the header template for the community pages (other pages that lacked them, as well as Castle Town, were unaffected), nor could it be the sidebar, or all pages would have the same issue. Then I edited one of the affected pages and previewed it with all the contents removed. The problem went away, so it was just a simple process of elimination to pin down which inclusion/transclusion (only signatures) was at fault. Once I found it was mine, I just previewed it with various bits of code stripped out to find the problem area. The only annoying thing was that I had to use IE while doing it - don't get me wrong, I don't hate Microsoft, but their browser is loathsome and pathetic. Adam [ talk ] 18:42, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Merging

I'm Kinda new and i don't know how to merge pages or what my talk and preferences are. Can someone clue me in?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dekuta 150:40, October 26, 2008 (UTC)

Just copy the content to the second article, typically as a new section. Then redirect the first article to the section in the second. I'll do one now. Look at what I did to learn.Emma (Talk) 15:48, October 26, 2008 (UTC)
P.S. It would have been better to ask this at Hyrule Castle.

Then how do i redirect?Dekuta 16:02, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Erase everything in the article to be redirected. Click on the thing that says "REDIRECT" on the lower tool box. Then type the article and section in the brackets. Like this: #REDIRECT [[Tingle#Kooloo-Limpah]]
That should be it.Emma (Talk) 16:09, October 26, 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch!Dekuta 20:28, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

pictures

Can someone get any photos of the construction paper cut-outs from the opening and Oshus's stories in Phantom Hourglass? If you can, Thanks! Dekuta 20:27, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I believe I can get the ones from the intro. —Naokohiro 00:54, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Here you go:

Naokohiro 01:18, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Cool dude. Aren't there ones in the ending too?Emma (Talk) 01:21, November 18, 2008 (UTC)

Personally I wouldn't want to try and beat the game on an emulator (assuming Naokohiro using one). Plus I've heard that you have to have a mic to use as the DS's, plus it's impossible to close the DS for copying maps. 'Wonder if there's any AR codes to skip to it though.Steve 01:52, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to try to get them, nonetheless... —Naokohiro 02:21, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Here it is:

I also captured over 400 images from the ending sequence, but I'm not uploading all of them here for obvious reasons. —Naokohiro 04:59, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Guys! These are so cool! Dekuta 19:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Pic Cleanup

Can someone please Clean up the image File:Posssesg.jpg Please? It is way too blurry, i can barely recognise Linebeck!-Jedi 09:48, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

There is no cleaning it up. It is way to small and blurry to be fixable. We'll just need to find a replacement.Emma (Talk) 18:32, November 4, 2008 (UTC)
Ok then.-Jedi 09:01, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
I may be able to come up with a replacement. Give me a bit. —Naokohiro 00:08, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

How's this?

Naokohiro 00:51, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Couple Userbox

I was wondering if someone could create another couple userbox for LinkxMalon. If you could, I'd really appreciate it. Triforce (T C) 00:33, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

We talked about working on that earlier today. We are trying to find a suitable image. Once an appropriate image is found ,the userbox will be created.Emma (Talk) 01:41, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
Everything I've found is fan art, and I'm not sure if the artists are even around anymore since the work has been around for a while now.Steve 02:01, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
It be best to avoid fan art unless we have no other choice. If the art has become that well known and wide-spread, then we'd have no problem putting them up here. It be under the fair use part of the US copyright law.Emma (Talk) 02:07, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
I could draw something up, but I'm not too familiar with cell shading in Photoshop/Gimp. Steve 02:14, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Ocarina Songs

Can someone please merge all of the Ocarina Song pages into one Ocarina Song page? At this point, it's very scattered, and would be better organized, if they were all on one page. Also, because the pages are very small and would be better sorted onto one page. —Naokohiro 23:47, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't think we'll merge them. But you're complaint gave me a better idea. I'll work on it.Emma (Talk) 00:11, November 18, 2008 (UTC)
What's the plan? I think there should be a single page with all songs (keeping the separate pages still). Maybe we could even setup a template?Steve 00:37, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking a template. Just like the one for the swords.Emma (Talk) 00:45, November 18, 2008 (UTC)
So, where is it, exactly...? —Naokohiro (Talk) 00:35, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Just check an ocarina song page.Emma (Talk) 00:38, November 19, 2008 (UTC)

Bad Song Links

Could someone please correct or delete the bad links to music clips on the song article pages? —Naokohiro (Talk) 02:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

We can't put up music ripped from soundtrack CDs. That is illegal. But we can put up fan-made midi files. Fixing these links is actually a projects we're working on now. I'm made a template that marks article for having broken links. It is Template:Brokenlink|Brokenlink. You may place it on any page that you notice that has broken external links. Music or otherwise. Emma (Talk) 02:16, November 20, 2008 (UTC)
I meant midis, sorry for my bad wording. Anyways, thankyou, I will use the Brokenlink template. —Naokohiro (Talk) 03:03, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Rings in the Oracle Series

Currently, we have a separate article for each ring in this series. I propose that we list all of the rings and their functions on the "Magic Rings" page. Each ring article currently only has a picture and 1-2 sentences. Ancblue52 04:28, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I always thought so, as whenever it I use "Random Page", it's usually a ring article. As you you said, they're only a couple sentences long, so they are pretty much unworthy of their own pages.Steve 16:30, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
It's the same with me -- using "Random Page". Any opposition to this move?Ancblue52 17:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Keep the pages for the Blue Ring and Red Ring separate. Since those are also items in the first game. Of course we'd list the functions for those two on the page. There is another ring project we can tackle at the same time. The current ring images all have a fuzzy white outline. That has to go.Emma (Talk) 18:36, December 20, 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I only meant the rings from the Oracle series. Ancblue52 18:47, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I noticed that the images were like that too, I can help out with that, though.Steve 18:51, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I've done two rings so far as a sample. Is this format okay with you guys, or should we format it differently? (Also, each former Ring page is now a redirect.) Ancblue52 19:17, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Looks good so far, and make sure to keep it alphabetized, I'll start making new images now, and upload them once the page is complete (that way it will be easier for me to switch them out).Steve 19:59, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Still needs some work, I'd say. I've added headers for each ring, which are a must. The redirects should point to the relevant ring section (I've modified the two already done to show how.) I'd say we could also do with a way to show easily whether each ring is found in OoA, OoS or both. Adam [ talk ] 20:05, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Adam, fix your sig in your preferences.
Having a section for each might make the table of contents ungainly. Here is an alternative:
For each ring, have it redirect to:
[[Magic Ring#RingName]]
To make them work, put this in place of the ring's name on the page:
<div id="RingName">RingName</div>
Replacing RingName with the full name of the ring in each case.Emma (Talk) 20:21, December 20, 2008 (UTC)
Of course, __NOTOC__ would also work... Adam [ talk ] 21:28, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I'll start doing this. Ancblue52 20:39, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

That's OK, I just didn't want you to put all that work in, and then realise that it needs to be changed again ;) Adam [ talk ] 20:44, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I've added the {{clear}}s now, I'll go back and change all those redirects. Matt, I'll follow your suggestion right now for getting rid of the table of contents, since it is so long. Ancblue52 20:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Well done, it's looking really good! The only other thing that I think would be nice to add is some kind of flags to highlight the various types of ring, and what game they're found in. Specifically, these are the two previous subcategories (transformation rings and rings with no effect), and then something to point out whether a ring is found in Ages, Seasons or both. If anyone can suggest a clear and concise way of doing this, that would be great! Adam [ talk ] 09:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

People have this stuff like linkxMalon and Favorite villain on their user page. How do i do this?

Falbi and Fyer

I noticed that during the end credits of Twilight Princess, Falbi and Fyer appear to be floating over Lake Hylia. I took sevral pictures of them, but they were all horrible quality. Can somebody please take a good picture of this strange scene?--Link hero of light 19:41, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Is this what you mean?
Source
It's impossible to tell who/what those two things are from the videos I've seen on YouTube. I assume it would be clearer while playing, but then the would be no decent way to capture a screenshot. Maybe someone can find a way? Adam [ talk ] 20:24, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

It's much clearer when playing the game. I'm not positive it's Falbi and Fyer but I'm pretty sure.--Link hero of light 23:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Wow, I never noticed that...I played the game and watched the credit, and...they are floating, you're right. Huh. ~Bongo Bongo~ 02:19, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Castle Town

Can an administrator update Castle Town regularly? I think there should be a new Pieces of Heart at least once a month and The Heart Container section needs to be updated every time a large request pops up in The Heart Container.--Link hero of light 18:28, 11 January 2009 (UTC).

Very true, my good man. Something I've wanted to do but never actually knew what to put there! I think we'll have to change the Pieces of Heart section's function to something more like a "tip / nifty thing of the week" sort of deal, drawing from Zelda Wiki:Pieces of Heart when possible. I'll look into what can be done with the page and we can decide what to do from there. —Ando (talk) 17:47, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

The Sol article, the only shots of the Sol are of Link holding it around the Palace of Twilight. Is there Any official art of the Sol? Could somone post it in the article? Hylian Text Translations Hit ctrl+F and type in 'tombstone' to find the appropriate section. Unfortunately, not all of it is translated due to it being hard to make out. Also, what is translated is only translated to Japanese, so we need someone to further translate it. Triforce (T C) 01:19, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

URGENT ISSUE!

Welcome to Zelda Wiki. I can understand that wiki coding can be daunting at first glance, so I suggest you have a good read of the Help Pages and experiment and practice in the Sandbox. Sorry, all I've done since getting here is correct typos. >_> Noble Wrot 22:58, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

That's a redirect. It exists in case someone misspells while searching for it in the search box. That's what most redirects are for.Emma (Talk) 23:10, March 30, 2009 (UTC)
Nah, I actually had to correct the spelling errors on the page it redirects to. I'm out to find more typos. Sorry, forgot my signature. Noble Wrot 15:30, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Spirit Gems

I am constructing the Symbols page, and when trying to refer to them, I noticed that the Spirit Gems (Courage Gem, Power Gem, and Wisdom Gem) are all on one separate page. I think it would make more sense to merge the three articles. They are not very large, and things like the Goddess Pearls are all on one page. Thanks to whoever can do this. Noble Wrot 05:15, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

It's simple, you too can do it. But getting a consensus is pretty much law. Follow this Help:Merging Pages. And if you are interested in commenting on other pages suggested to be merged: Category:Articles to be merged. I think for the most part many are stalled for input.
