The Treasure Chest Game is featured in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Minish Cap, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons. It is a form of Gambling.
Ocarina of Time
In the Ocarina of Time version, Link chooses one of two chests in each room and hope to get a Small Key to let him into the next room. The Lens of Truth can be used to ensure victory. He wins a Piece of Heart at the end.
According to a gossip stone, it's against the rules to use Lens of Truth glasses while playing.
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, Link attempts to get to the end of the room by the end of the time limit where a chest lies with a prize. The prize depends on what form he is in at the time. The Game's host will change the price at which to play at depending on the form, also. When playing in the Goron Form, a Piece of Heart can be obtained.
